Alpina G21 B3 Touring Discounts?

Can you get a deal on the B3? They seem to depreciate like a refrigerator off a cliff, based on GFV figures. But it’s a less ugly, more exclusive alternative to the forthcoming M3 Touring... and as G20/21 discounts are 15-20%, is there any wiggle room? Or if you have to ask, keep walking?

You'll probably be able to get a small discount, but nothing like what you'll get on a regular 3 / M3.
Exclusivity costs money unfortunately! But I completely agree with you - Alpina all day for me.

You'll do extremely well to get anything even nominal off as Bt3 said exclusivity costs & I'd take the GFV with a grain of salt as Alpina's hold their value very well after the 1-3 years.
It really is a gorgeous thing in green.

Only problem with that is the finance company sets the GFV, so will still make the monthlies much bigger & you'll effectively be over paying for the car. You might get some of it back if you look after the car & sell privately, but just all depends if you'd be willing to take the risk.
Love the Alpina green too though!

Aye that is true but I do wonder why they continue to set the GFV so low when historically the models have shown that they depreciate much slower than the equivalent BMW models.
The blue is also a beautiful colour but just something extra special about it in the green, not a deco set fan however & I'd personally de badge the rear & have the alpina branding on the front spoiler body coloured.

@OM3RTA I wonder if it's just due to used demand - I could be wrong, but I'd imagine most Alpina customers may want a new car. A lot of the second hand ones I see are at Independent garages rather than BMW dealers. Could just be speculation.

I'd be the same - complete de-badge, and I'd swap the BMW roundels on the bonnet and boot for Alpina badges. I'm not sure why they stopped doing that themselves to be honest, the Alpina writing on the back of the car is the only thing that spoils them in my opinion.

You could purchase the car and resell it if it is looking like it is undervalued at GFV

Your definitely right about them mainly reappearing in independent garages rather than main dealers, the only main dealer they seemingly crop up in is Sytner & although even there they are again more expensive than the BMW equivalent you could well be right about speculation.

You know one thing I'm not fond of it the alpina roundels. I know historically it would be correct to have them but for me it's like having the Brabus B on your Bra us , it might be the proper thing to do but it just looks a little 'off' to me......probably because I've got so used to seeing them with the BMW logo these days.

That's true - trade it in when ready to move on and release some equity from the mad overpayments you have been making! But £75k for a 3er still feels rather a lot, even a very, very nice one.

IIRC Sytner is the official Alpina importer. So the only BMW dealer that deals in Alpinas?

Yeah Sytner are the only supplying dealer group for Alpina in the U.K.

I wouldn't be surprised if most Alpina buyers were cash buyers and not interested in finance at all.

This is a topic that gets an airing fairly regularly and the general consensus has always been that there is no real likelihood of a discount on any Alpina model. In short they don't need to offer a discount.

GFVs in recent years have taken a hammering, mostly to reduce risk for the finance companies, most got stung really badly after 2008 and I don't see the present situation helping much either. A B3 is more than likely going to be treated as closer to a 340i than an M3 for this purpose.

True about finance companies getting screwed - it's quite well known that people are either mis-sold PCP deals by dodgy salesmen, who just tell people they can VT their agreement and avoid excess mileage charges, or people who do it knowingly themselves.

Nothing dodgy about VT at all - it's a Consumer right. My point was that people knowingly abuse that right by taking out a contract for 6k miles and doing much more, then handing the car back which costs the finance company money.

I hear what you are saying but you could argue from the same perspective comparing any lower end fast VAG offering to a Golf.

Yes they are since 1985.

A colleague was talking to Sytner about ordering the G21 B3 (about 12 months ago) and they implied that they can not get enough to fulfil UK demand, and that as such discounts were unlikely

this was before the M3 was announced in touring form, So maybe the Alpina demand will soften a little

Money no object, I'd still much rather have the Alpina.

Bored in lock down I specced a B3 Touring to £77k.
Corresponded with Gary @ Alpina and when my dealer reopened got a deal on same specced 340i for £29k less.
Sure it doesn't have Alpina stickers, badges, S58 motor, wheels, suspension and exhaust but what price exclusivity?
