Has anybody lived with Oyster interior?
I have always went with dark interior for maintenance purposes. But now I am thinking of going with Oyster. Does anyone have experience with these light interiors?

I have had an ivory interior for almost 2 years now. I still love it and am considering getting a light color with my next car. Also note that I have 2 kids that get filthy playing sports and still ride in my car without issue.
The only issue I have is actually from my pants. I wear bluejeans every day and the dye does transfer. I just clean/treat the seat once a month and it is easily removed. |

Yes. Try not to wear jeans. The color gets transferred onto lighter color leather. This is personal experience.

Color may transfer but if you take 5 minutes every month or less they'll clean up easily. I ordered oyster.

I’m curious what cleaning products or solutions have you all used to clean out the jeans stains from the leather seats?

I have Venetian in my 3 and Oyster in my 2. Always prefer light interiors for perceived spaciousness and cooler temperatures. Cognac is very attractive but too dark for me. After 5 years, Oyster still looks new. I don’t wear blue jeans and do use Leather Master product.

I have had Oyster leather on my E90 and also in my beige varient on my E46 individual and E63.
As long as you keep it cleaned/maintained regularly, you will be fine. I use Dr Leather wipes for a quick clean and Auto Finesse leather balm/hide to keep it clean and maintained. I really do think that these colour interiors/leather does open up the cabin so much more, but as I say, be prepared to keep it maintained!

I had oyster interior for 3 years on a previous BMW; zero issues with it getting discoloured. No need for concern. It is a great interior choice!
Enjoy! |

I really didn't like the black leather with textured aluminum trim on the tester so planning on oyster w/ wood trim on my ordered model. Hoping it is as relatively easy to care for as it sounds like. Good news is I never wear jeans so transfer will be zilch.

Both of my cars are white. I am anal about cleaning and have had no issues so far. I have not left my car long enough without cleaning to notice anything.
I have had no issue with jeans (however I tell my wife none of her $5 jeans anywhere near the interior, else she cleans the seats) I do think it depends on the jeans you have. Do not use anything harsh. At most soap and water with lots of hydration once you are done. |

Maintain and clean it and there should be no issues keeping it white. Have ivory on my 440 and still looks white after 2 years. Cannot see myself going back to a dark interior - the light interior "opens" up the interior a lot and makes it feel a lot bigger especially when there is sunlight.

I've been running EBII on Coral Red for seven years now. about to order my M340 build with Sunset Orange on Oyster. it looks great in the pics and will be a nice change. I hate dark interiors. On every other BMW I've had, I went with the beige. really looking forward to the light Oyster.

I had a M3 San Mario Blue Individual/Silverstone Interior. I worried about it — but I just every few weeks cleaned it with Sonox leather cleaner. Had no issues.
My wife's G01 X3 right now has Oyster, and I'm just staying on top of it the same way. Her seat seems to be the dirtiest. I think it's jean/dye transfer mostly. Last edited by mzdial; 08-01-2019 at 10:06 PM.. |

I wanted oyster on my M340i so bad, but knowing that I would lack vigilance to clean the seats even periodically, I landed on cognac. Very happy with it but Oyster interiors really are gorgeous.

I’ve got oyster with black trim. Had absolutely no problems keeping it clean and in my humble opinion, it looks much better than with the aluminium trim.

I have oyster in my M340i and the seats do not heat up if the car is parked in the sun. I love the color and is easy to clean, someone at the service center left a mark on the driver door with a ballpoint pen and it did not even stain the leather. The ink just dried up on top luckily.
