BMW M340i or Audi S5 Sportback?

I would not even cross shop the 2 and I am in no mood to purchase another overpriced VW.

We own a MK1 SQ5 (not by my choice) which IMO drives much better than MK2 and there isn't anything in the current Audi line up that I have a slight interest in.

The whole interior thing is nothing but a hype. Go get into a Passat and it has the same interior. I don't get why people are always so impressed with Audi's interior where every single bit and piece are shared through all of their platforms.

At least when you buy a BMW, you get a BMW.

I bought a 2018 A5 SB from Carmax a couple of months ago. Had it for a week, and returned it because of some interior issues caused by the previous owner.

Went right to the BMW dealer after that and bought a new 330i, and haven't regretted my decision one bit. The BMW is just a better vehicle all around. The A5 SB was nice, but driving the 330i is a much more rewarding experience. It just looks better, too.

There's a reason you don't see many A5 SB's on the street.

I see tons of RS5 sportback on dealer lots. Seems like a fun car but 85K is tough.

I was super close to buying an S4/S5 but the M340i is clearly the better all around car at this very moment. I heard the S4/S5 are getting a power upgrade next year to better compete.

Kidding aside, why not wait for the M440i Gran Coupe? That's the real competition for the S5 SB.
