Emergency call service malfunction and locked out iDrive

Tonight though, the car apparently made continuous emergency calls and a cop showed up to my house to confirm everything was okay. We were both completely flabbergasted as to what the car was doing. It seemed as though all iDrive features were locked out and I couldn't even change the volume of the emergency call, which was super loud! I called BMW Roadside Assistance and they said I basically can't do anything except take the car into my BMW dealership. Has anyone dealt with this before? If so, what steps did the dealership take to rectify the issue?
