I'm a huge Alpina-fan, but when the start-point is as good looking as the G20 is, the result is the nicest B3 since the E30

God dammit, this is the sweetest forbidden fruit I have ever seen. I don't understand why BMW doesn't bring the B3 to the U.S. but they do offer the B7 and B6 (which might possibly now be the B8?). Wouldn't the B3 possibly produce more sales for Alpina in the U.S. over the B6/7/8?

Also, I'm a sucker for Green, and Alpina has one gorgeous green, and that interior is nice too! Leather and stitching everwhere!

With the Alpina rated at 3.8 to 62 that gives a 3.6 (ish run to 60) add in a roll out which I think C&D do? And you've got another bit so I'd guess the B3 in their hands would record a 3.3? with another 80hp over the M340.

The US mags always get great 0-60 runs a UK mag like Autocar always do them with a full tank of fuel, 2 up and use 2 way average with no roll out (generally it's wet as well

)

Probably because it's not up to them ?

Alpina is an independent car manufacturer. It just happens that they are using BMW cars as a base for their end product.

The specs show that this has got the new S58 engine instead of B58. Biturbo, 2,993cc, 84/90mm bore/stroke.

Also, isn't this the first Alpina to ever be based on the M Sport package model?

Thank goodness for that as well. Would have looked horrendous with stock bumpers (not even the Alpina splitter can save that thing). They didn't really have an option on this one though, as the M340i always comes with the M Sport bumpers.
