The M340i's ZTK Cooling and HP Tire Package is impressive

I wasn't 100% sure what it included until I saw one spec'd with this package. It's pretty nice for $1500.
  • 19" wheels (required by larger front brake rotors) w/ Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
  • Larger 374mm front rotors and calipers (compared to the standard 348mm)
  • Extra oil cooling radiator under the front bumper (similar to the F80 M3)
  • Mobility kit w/ air pump (since the tires are non-run-flat)
The brakes were a big surprise, but require that winter and track wheels must also be 19" since smaller wheels won't fit over the brakes just like with the M2 Competition. This also means the new M3 will not have optional 18" wheels anymore either.

Is this option available to add via the configurator? I couldn’t seem to find it.

Look at the Order/Pricing guides - it is listed there. It's not supported by the configurator yet.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the package for the non-runflats and the extra cooling. I didn’t know about the brakes.

seems like BMW has been slow playing the details of this package... i wonder why??
getting 4S tires, bigger brakes, and cooling isn't too bad of a deal

I would have purchased this if I knew it had a front brake upgrade. Oh well.

Same here. Figured I wouldn’t be tracking the car, so I passed.
It can be added later?

I bet no dealer would be interested in ordering this for their in stock cars.

My take is unless your tracking, the bigger brakes aren’t necessary.
They help to reduce brake fade, but for daily driving the 348mm are fine.

I wish they didn't force the cerium gray wheels if you want this package. Would have loved bigger brakes, and I'm going to have to buy non-RFTs anyway. Would have been nice to get them from the factory.

In the ordering guide, it says it includes the M technology package. What exactly is that?

I would think so! That's why I passed, figured if I was going to a track would make more sense to just pay the extra for a CS or competition M

And considering I had an M4 for 3 years, and never made it to a track...
But I will be doing donuts on the way to return it!! Just put brand new tires on the back!

I ordered it on my build as well. Honestly did not know about the brakes, you would think BMW would try to market this a whole lot better. Not that I would even notice it during regular city driving. I don't even track, so the extra cooling is nice but not needed for me. Mainly I wanted the non run flats , and the Michelin PS4's tires . I'm really fond of the tires, I have them on my current M and have nothing but good things to say about them.

Same here, but I ordered the wheels separately (1PN), didn't want to add another $900 for the cooling. But of course my brain is spinning over the words "upgraded brakes", makes me feel like I'm missing out, but for nor DD the m sport brakes and wheels will be enough to stop!
I hope....

I checked the configurator and I do not see an option to add cooling?!

Hmm, I was wondering why I couldn't order ZTK with a spare. Bigger brakes must be the reason...

I hope my 18" winter wheels that I used on my '16 340i still fit... will find out tomorrow.

It wasn't up on the configurator at the time, still isn't I believe . In hindsight I guess I could've just ordered the wheels. But then it would make me order the spacer saver tire $150 , which I did not want. But as far as the brakes, same thing , I'm sure same exact stopping distance. You would need to track this baby to take advantage of that extra hardware. Plus you don't need no cooling , you live in Ohio , shits cold enough

Sorry, should have mentioned I did not like the jet black wheels either as they are too glossy looking for me. FWIW the first dealer I was working with had trouble adding the jet black wheels as part of this package, but maybe that has since changed.

My dealer also could not order 791M with ZTK: 792M was the only selectable option in their system once ZTK was selected. Ended up getting 792M. Oh well.

I think I'm going to give this car a couple of days on the track for sure.

It is the first car to carry new M driving approach that can survive the track without buying new tires and pads every session. it is nimble - has all the right hardware - why not.

M5 is too heavy and expensive. New M3 is a year away.

I want to see how the new G20 Chassis and the new 4 wheel drive auto approach works at the limit.

Brakes and cooling are going to help.

It is more of an experiment vs a true track car.

Took delivery today. Front brakes are massive, they barely fit those 19" wheels. Extra cooling is always good. Yep, i'm gonna track it.
