Ceramic Window Tint

Had anybody here had ceramic window tint installed? I'm reading that it's a bit cooler than standard tint but everything that comes up on Google is a hit on a tint shop that I would expect bias from. Any personal experiences? Will likely go for ceramic coat for paint, just looking at possibly doing the tint as well.

I've had ceramic llumar tints on leases for 9+ years now and have always preferred them.

With that said, there is a potential issue with UV blocking from the ceramic tint because the full digital dash on G20's relies on UV for auto adjusting dimness.

Some users have experienced significant dimming on the dash with ceramic tints. Post here: Window tint triggering auto-dimming on both displays during the day https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1628439

I am still getting ceramic on my car when it arrives next month.

I had regular tint on an old vehicle, and then ceramic in my current vehicle. I did not notice any difference.

I just got ceramic on mine, I’ve used Xpel XR plus on a couple of cars now and love it! I can however confirm that if you tint the windshield the ceramic tint does impact auto-dimming. It just seems delayed to react to lighting changes. But the difference is very noticeable with heat rejection, Xpel is one of the best though.

I have ceramic tint installed but haven't had any issues with auto-dimming. However, nothing on the front windshield and the front side windows are only 35% compare to the back and rear which are 5%.

Yeah it’s really only an issue when the windshield is tinted with ceramic.

XPELs ceramic is solid.

3M Crystalline is fine, but it's thick and needs a great installer to work well.

For me, the best has always been Spectra Photosync. It's incredible product.
