Folks,

Anyone have a recommendation for an independent rattle/squeak fixer in the London/SE area who can eradicate the vibration buzz/rattle from the value-engineered steering column assembly? On anything but the smoothest road surface it's is immensely annoying...

To be fair to BMW, they did a decent job of fixing the Pano roof noise with some well placed felt tape - not so much the steering column covers...

Of course, if someone has pulled apart a G21 column cover assembly and it's easy enough then maybe I'll give it a go! (too scared I'll break clips etc...)

Sorry for the delay in responding. Whilst I've definitely heard a little of that it has not been easily reproducible or a significant issue (my prior car was an F31 with a fairly widely observed steering rack rattle which was far more reproducible/intrusive).

I think mine is more of a generic cheap-plastic vibration in the steering column covers/assembly. Might see if I can disassemble and incorporate some better sound deadening/felt tape etc.

Failing that, back to BMW, as the powered tailgate has decided to stop properly opening from the key or comfort access...just releases the catch and sits there... Deep joy.

Absoulutly no rattles or vibrations in my 330i, in fact it is one of the reasons I bought the G20 330i was it's cabin quiteness.
