The felt boot seal freezes and sticks
I've had my G20 for five months and it's proven to be a great upgrade from my F30.
However, I've noticed a small problem. For whatever reason, BMW has added a secondary seal to the boot that's made of a felt type material. In cold weather, this has been freezing solid and preventing the boot from opening. I remember a similar material and problems with the doors for my MK4 Golf. Why has this seal been added? Has anyone else experienced this?

Many cars were fitted with this strip. Stops water gathering in boot channel then freezing! I put gummi pledge on mine. Stops it freezing up. Same on rubber door seals. Get it on Amazon uk. Hope that helps. Enjoy the car!

I had exactly the same issue one freezing morning.
A spray of WD40 has solved it. Never returned so far.
