Next generation W206 C Class interior vs. G20 3 Series interior

I was browsing IG and saw a spy shot that is allegedly the next generation of Mercedes Benz C-Class interior. If this picture actually is the newest C-Class interior, what do you guys think of it so far? I personally don't like the huge screen in the middle of the interior.[IMG][/IMG]

Here's another picture, slightly zoomed out.

I personally am going to reserve judgement until I see the finished product. I'm very intrigued.

But just going off these pictures, the design does look odd to me...

I agree. I too will wait until I see the final project before I decide whether I like the design or not, but yeah so far from what I've seen, it does look weird to me.

Oh dearie me. I am unimpressed with that interior. We need less massive touch screens not more!

I kind of like it. Sleek and clean. Also, dedicated climate control buttons. Overall, it looks like a evolutionary step forward, though.

It's weird that the rear view camera and surround view camera's are going to be in the middle though. Backing up and looking down doesn't feel natural.

Audi has done the same thing.

What's with the giant bezels around each of the screens? That's what's ruining it for me.

An improvement of what they currently have. I’d be considering the AMG 43 or 63 if the interior wasn’t so dated. First world problem but I don’t want a new car that I’m tired of in a few months... so I applaud the change and reserve judgement at this point.

That's just to throw people off and to cover the car to hide stuff. The one in the current E/S Class doesn't have bezels that big so it's hard to believe the bezels will stick around.

That heads up display looks absolutely MASSIVE though.

The speedo gauges look like the bezel is being covered up, but I don't know...the center stack looks to be finished. Could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised.

The only thing here that interests me. I wonder if they'll try to integrate AR into nav directions with the HUD.

i hate capacitive touch panels even if they are "seperate" buttons, and that aesthetically looks terrible. G20 all the way. Part of the reason I wanted a BMW was they are keeping the idrive knob and actual buttons.

Hate the round vents too. Think they single-handedly put me off buying a Merc, look so old-fashioned.

Those actually look a lot better than the ones on the current generation. They're kind of circular and squared off. The current generation is a fully circular.

Forget about Mercedes design language, lets mash together Porsche center console, adopt some Audi capacitive touch , and tacky CLA / A round vents!
COOL, embrace the future eh, everything is touchy feely and ofc you can have it only in gloss black

Sorry, no thank you

To be honest, I think we'll see BMW transition to the same thing in the future. As much as I love the scroll wheel, I think it's going away. If not the next generation of iDrive, then maybe the one after that. It does free up a lot of space and I understand why manufacturers are doing it.

Much prefer the current generation interior of Mercedes which I have in my CLS. A nice mix of elegant design and hard touch buttons for the climate control as well as command knob (although that has been replaced for some models) instead of touchscreens and touch sensitive buttons (other than the ones on the steering wheel). I will wait and see, but it looks like they are following Audi who I think made a mistake in going all touchscreen for everything. We will likely see what this interior will look like in the next S-Class.

When the current gen C class first came out back in 2013/2014, I thought the interior was an absolute work of art (minus the tacked on tablet). The swooping center console looked like it was taken out of an art gallery.

It's obviously aged now and the tacked on tablet sticks out more than ever, but this new design just doesn't make sense to me. I can only hope that once they reveal the final product it makes better sense.

I actually don't mind the current updated C Class interior. It doesn't look dated to me at all. This all screen crap looks terrible on everything including Audi (sorry I should say it "looks" nice, but the functionality, practicality, and safety concerns just ruin it for me).

Screen overload. BMW's ergonomics are better and while not as flashy, their interiors are of higher quality and age well.
