Well that was a waste of time. So they ripped the door panels off my brand new car took pictures and said "Yup, nothing here. We will update the case.". I also wrote a complete list from the forum of missing things and provided to them. If I want to bring the car back and upgrade the only thing would be a expedited & guaranteed 2023 M3 (50yr). no money was discussed at this point. I'm not a fan of the M3 on its size, weight and looks to be honest for a $90k sports car. So no clue what's left outside "How do I return this car without losing money discussion.". If that does work out where do I go? Things I need to think about. What this forum does is bring light to others who have yet pull the trigger. Its a great performing car but it does lack a lot of things others offer standard and or optional.

As with anything internet related these are JMOs.

is there a reason why you want those puddle lights? the welcome light carpet is much better, my older cars have those puddle lights and i hardly even noticed them

What I want is everything that was on the 2022 with the stated exceptions of power tail gate and lumber support for passenger. The LCI is was more money and they removed a bunch of standard items this is not cool in my book.

I'm still trying to picture it. The 'welcome carpet' and door handle lights look great, but my initial impression is that any additional lights would just be clutter. Is it really that big of an amenity to trade it in? Or do you want an M3, and simply looking for a reason to justify the change?

One thing that has been the case before, and certainly more common with the current supply chain issues, is that options/parts change between years, and even midway through a year. Unless the part is such a detriment to the car, most OEMs will just make the change to keep production moving.

I'm in the same boat as you. My 2020 330i has every option other than the sport package. It feels like it was worth the $57K MSRP. On my 2023 M340i order, I'm questioning if it feels like it'll be worth the $67K. It's not like every car needs all these options, but for those of us wanting them, let us pay. It stinks that Canada next door can order cars from Munich which has all the options we're used to.

Genuinely confused, why do people care so much about puddle lights? The LCI has the little streaks that gets projected onto the ground by the entry ways. Why would one need anything much more than that?

Yea those are not the puddle light but welcome mat from under the car. The puddles are actually on the door them selves. If you take your hand and run under the door panel you will feel a place to where they should be.

example once you open the door

Can confirm that hands free tailgate is back on 2023 M440GC as well as power trunk and digital key. No puddle lights but there is a plastic rectangular part over it and CA said you could install lights, not sure.

Is there a way to install this digital key option? My 2023 330e came with digital key deletion

You need the wireless charging tray for the NFC support.
