Installed the 11/20 update today. after install it I started up and started to drive.... Realized the alarm was ringing while I was driving and the headlights and tail lights flashing and alarm "clown nose" was flashing I got out to look, alarm ringing and clown nose flashing looked like it was a police car. lol. Also, the Alarm is Much Lower Sound compared to my 2017 340 which was very loud... Anyone else know if they lowered the alarm sound volume or is my alarm no good? I restarted and all was well except I lost Pops and Burbles and the mirror settings were changed and had to re-aim and no lap timer and no tach in the HUD anymore and its checked. I should of never installed it. Can not understand why every update they push out always has some issue. Does anyone else have any of these issues and know how to resolve the Tach in HUD, Alarm Sound Volume Adjustment, Thanks

Here is my (not so good) experience of software things.
About two months ago my car was at normal service. Before this service the car was complaining energy lost. The reason for this was that car didnt go sleep mode when parking. So they updated software. Everything was supposed to be ok. But after that update car was really terrible to drive: throttle lagging and transmission was working really strange. Car didnt also read speed signs anymore, doors didnt lock when driving and driving mode + welcome sign stick in the screen until you push back button. So car went back to the dealer for a new update. After second update there were no lagging and it was good to drive again etc..but..car still didnt read speed signs. At this point dealer decided to ask the manufacturer for instructions on what to do. Now after third update the car seems to works as it should I think my car will not be updated in any way for a while after this... |

I had the same.
You need to go to General Settings -> Personal Assistant -> Voice Control and make sure Online speech processing is enabled, Thirdy-party providers optioni is checked and also enable Activation word. Once you do that, just say Alexa and that's it. Here's a video from BMW with detailed instructions if above doesn't work. |

I'm having some issues using the MyBMW app for the remote update.
All of the "Connection Required" says connected besides the "Apps" one. Any idea why and how I can fix? |

Hi,
I have a 2020 M340 with software version 03/2021.46. I followed the above steps, BUT all I get when I say ALEXA is a screen that tells me to complete set up of Alexa:
UPDATE: I remembered that I have the ConnectedDrive Skill enabled on Alexa and I checked-- it works, but all of above still a problem. Could that skill be the problem? Thanks

I got Alexa to work! After doing everything in the video and instructions on the app I gave up when it won't work. Then I asked an Echo device to unlock my car and she said that I needed to link my account. It had been linked two days ago last time I had her unlock my doors. So....I opened the Alexa app on my phone and relinked my BMW account to Alexa and when I got in the car it was working. It's a little slow to respond but otherwise it's working great. Good luck to everyone struggling with it. Keep trying!

Side note: does alexa allow you to put down all the windows? Cause that would be fucking dope. |

There are situations....mostly when I'm home and the car is locked in the garage....when I want it unlocked but don't want to run to my purse to get the key. I can just ask Alexa to unlock the doors. It works beautifully. |

Mermaid! ,
First off, well done on getting Alexa connected! You're right it's complicated and a pain to get there -- I'm still plugging away. I tried disabling the ConnectedDrive skill in Alexa & disconnecting Alexa in the MyBMW app; then reconnecting Alexa in MyBMW app. St Still no joy!

when connecting to the BMW WI-FI make sure you enter the Wi-Fi password from the Idrive in your phone and you will be good to go, the App icon should light up. the App icon should not be grey out because if it do Alexa will not work. |

rico25 ,
Thanks for the quick reply. In fact, my Android phone is Bluetooth connected to my car & uses the car's Wi-Fi. I have all the boxes checked for my phone-- Bluetooth, Internet & Apps. All icons are "lit" except the Apps icon I am not sure why that is??

Also Delete the car Bluetooth from your phone! 1. Login to your MyBMW App and Connect to Alexa 2. Login to your car 3. Enable Online Speech $ Third Party Providers in PERSONAL ASSISTANCE 4. Connected your Phone and Allow Apps Connection 5. Connect BMW Wi-Fi on your phone, select Wi-Fi and it should promp you to inter password and enter the BMW Wi-Fi password. You should connect and app icon light up. |

My 2019 330i updated to 03/2021.50 and the steps were really easy to setup Alexa. When I was on 11/2020.35 sw there was an incremental update to 11/2020.45. Albeit a small change but it added automatic steering wheel heating when below a set temp outside. At least on my car that's what I noticed. I can only imagine this is beyond frustrating how they roll these features out. |

Phone and car had been prompting me to install 11/2020.50 going back a couple months but between there being nothing that interesting in the upgrade for me, I also did not feel like re-doing my coding again.
Now i have noticed that the update has completely disappeared and both phone and car say no update is available even though i am on 7/2020.54. Assuming the updates have to be done incrementally OTA, so i wonder if by ignoring the last one for so long i am stuck in a bit of limbo. |
