330e / USB Charging issue

Took delivery of my new company car on Tuesday this week.

All great so far, but I'm having issues with USB & charging.

I have the base spec 330e M Sport (i.e. no options), so no wireless charging etc.

I have 2 phones personal/work:
Galaxy S8+ (runs Android Auto)
Galaxy S9 (Bluetooth only, no AA)

Neither phone will charge from either the USB A or C sockets - I tried both whilst sitting on the driveway with the car charging and both phones in both sockets reported "check cable connection - slow charging".

I tried the S8+ in the USB C socket whilst driving to work this morning - it reported 'AC' (fast) charging but Battery Mix app shows it lost around 15% in 50 minutes driving to work.

I then tried the USB A socket driving home, where it reports as slow charging via USB and lost 25% in the 2 hours it took me to drive home.

Interestingly, using a dual USB charger in the front 12V socket (with a dual adapter also running a dashcam), I found it also failed to charge whilst sitting on the driveway, but when I left the phone alone and started driving, it seemed the charge rate picked up and managed to put around 25% charge up to and maintaining a full charge in about 50 minutes.

To be clear, I am only charging the S8+ whilst driving, I only tried swapping out with the S9 whilst sat on the driveway, as that work phone rarely needs a charge during the day.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried to swap the charging cable?
I have no issues whatsoever charging from any of the three USB C ports. Haven't used the USB A port for anything other than storage.

I've tried various USB A cables which are fine via mains chargers and the 12V adapter. I only have one USB C to USB C cable, but I've got another on order.

Brand new USB C cable arrived yesterday. Tried it whilst sat on the driveway last night, seemed fine. Plugged in after about 10 mins off a full charge on this morning's commute and it maintained the full charge. On tonight's journey, it managed to put about 10% charge in but then lost all of that and more whilst still connected untouched to the charger. Baffled.

Thought I'd give the USB C socket a go again today (with new cable), but still same issue. It seems to start charging, but then starts losing charge. This was during a drive of around an hour, with Android Auto running in the background (Google Maps + Spotify) on a Samsung Galaxy S8+.
