Tomorrow will mark week 2 sitting at quality check on my M440ix. Depressing to see other people skipping these steps like lighting yet the genius line and my dealer have no idea whats wrong. Hopefully its not another week in purgatory.

I am experiencing the same thing. I wonder if there is a slowdown?

I got some more intel about my order. I'm from Europe so I don't have access to the fancy tracking tool you guys from the States have ;-)

My Sales Rep sent me a screenshot of their internal tool which basically says the following
  • Status / Date: 047 / 27.01.2022
  • Processing Type: CU
  • Req. Prod. Week: 14/04/2022
  • Sub. Prod. Week: <empty>
  • Conf. Prod. Week: <empty>
  • Production Plant: 01 - Muenchen

What can I understand from this? Like, what does the code (047) tell me in correlation with the "Reg. Prod. Week"?

I read in other threads that, once the dates are confirmed, it's estimated the car will be ready in the week of April 14th? Can someone confirm this?
I'd expect it would start in the week of April 14th
Also, I do have a production number which is clearly visible in the screenshot he sent me

FYSA, I was notified yesterday that my M340i build had the M Performance Exhaust removed from it. My build has been in production begins status since 1 Feb.

Hopefully you don't experience this, but just so you know it's a possibility. I spent 12 weeks in QC. I was a week 43 Build in Germany and I went into QC Nov. 4th and left the factory on February 3rd.

Finally due in Baltimore on March 8th, but still have a RAM retrofit to go through.

is there a thread with more info on this RAM stuff? is it still going on for cars that are about to be built? seems crazy they'd be holding every car for a retrofit instead of just building them correctly from factory

Currently on week 3 of QC on my M340ix (week 7 build). Hopefully have an update soon, but expecting more delays at this point. Oh well, the way she goes these days.

Car will be San Remo green with a cognac interior. I checked most every box on this one: premium package; drivers assistance pro package; dynamic handling package; parking assist package; adaptive suspension; HK sound; adaptive headlights; live cockpit pro; and remote engine start. I'll be curious to see if any of these don't make the final cut. So far, the order sheet only showed deletion of the passenger lumbar option.

I've seen some folks say you can check your options based on the VIN, but when I use the online VIN decoder sites, it pulls up a 2002 318i. My understanding is this is because BMW has begun to recycle certain parts of the VIN. Are there any sites that can accurately read the new VINs?

I'll keep folks posted as the order updates. Thanks and best wishes!

Edited to add updates below:

12/3/2021 - Order placed with dealer.
1/11/2022 - "Production begins" on the MyBMW portal
1/20/2022 - "Exterior body assembly begins"
1/21/2022 - "In the paint booth"
1/??/2022 - "Entering assembly line"
1/??/2022 - "Assembly in progress"
1/24/2022 - "Quality check"
1/??/2022 - "Final assembly"
1/??/2022 - "Ready for transport"
1/??/2022 - "Awaiting carrier assignment"
1/25/2022 - "Dispatched from factory"
1/26/2022 - "At the port" (in Bremerhaven)
2/2/2022 - "In transit"
2/21/2022 - "At the port" (in Galveston)
3/1/2022 - "In transit"
3/1/2022 - "At the dealership"
Just following up on this. SA reached out yesterday with pictures of our car arriving on the transport. We're planning to pick up tomorrow. That would mean exactly three months from order placed to taking delivery.

As far as I can tell, we've only lost the passenger lumbar.

Given the waits and option removals others have experienced, I'm very happy with the outcome. I have no idea why ours went so smoothly (relatively speaking) while others have had much longer wait times. Hoping things start moving soon for those still waiting!

I really appreciate this update, thanks. I have a Mexico build that is in transit as we speak (Glovis Crystal) arriving in Baltimore sometime around the 10th. Awesome to see you didn't have RAM or other recalls to deal with. I'm hoping mine as well ends up with a clean path out of there once it arrives. Congrats on the car!!

My pleasure.

Check your VIN# here for any recalls: https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/ I showed 0 recalls immediately after production which aligned with Genius.

Also, feel free to give BMW Genius a call with your production number or VIN# 1844-4-Genius.

Or, reach out to your client advisor for updates as well.

I called the genius line and talked to the dealership. Neither can give an estimated completion date. Annoying but very similar to what’s been going on the past few months.

Yup, I have been checking every site/resource since production. So far 0 issues have popped up anywhere, site or genius. My worst fear is that the day it lands at port suddenly recalls/stops/work orders will arrive.

Hope you have a great PCD experience!

My build has been completed and is allegedly waiting for transport at the SLP plant since Feb 10. Neither the genius or my SA has any additional info. It's annoying that there's no additional info, especially since the build has been completed for 3 weeks now. Anyone else's car sit at the plant this long?

Same situation - my completion date was also Feb 10 and neither the genius or SA has any idea what the hold up is.

I didn't wait that long from SLP. My car was finished production on Jan 26 and left the SLP plant on Jan 31. It wasn't until Feb 14 when the boat it was put on finally left the Port of Veracruz. I was able to get information between the time my car left the factory and reached the port though. My SA and Genius both were able to tell me that the car was on a train to the port of exit. My tracker didn't update to "in transit" until 2 days after the boat (Glovis Sirius) left.

Yes, my car was on the Glovis Sirius as well. It reached the Sparrows point terminal at the Port of Baltimore on March 2nd. This is where the new BMW VPC is located. The car left the VPC on March 5th. It is on a truck right now and should be ready to be picked up as soon as March 8th.

02/14/2022 - Left port of exit
03/02/2022 - Reached Port of Balitmore
03/05/2022 - Left VPC on truck to dealership
03/08 or 03/09 - pick up vehicle

Did you get your car yet?

2022 330i built in Mexico

2022-02-04 Order Placed at Dealership
2022-02-04 Order Received
2022-02-04 Scheduled for Production
2022-02-11 Production Begins
2022-03-07 Production Begins (Still hasn't changed)

I am starting to wonder if there are any delays at the factory or if the tracker is not getting updated. I am stuck on Production Begins. A month has gone by and it is already one week past the scheduled build completion date. Is anyone else having the same issue?
