i sometimes start driving very early and don't want to wake the neighbors shouldn't harm the car if i managed to disable the loud start? |

I've disabled it - soooo much better!
I am using MHD and with the cold start delete option, the car immediately settles to 650rpms from cold, none of this 45secs at 1250rpm. The only reason they do this higher revs for 45secs is to heat up the cats- so for emissions. But no negative consequence disabling it. I have a high flow cat anyway, so its pointless. Starting in Sport mode, it still gives a little roar but its not obnoxious. You can add a more aggressive start-up roar if you want using the MHD tuning platform I am using. Starting in Comfort it is quiet. By default I have my car starting in Sport mode as that is all I use. |

I recently disabled with MHD as well. I'm running a catted AA downpipe and the AA axle-back exhaust. Cold start on my 2020 was very loud and now is super quiet.
Since I go on lots of very short drives, I've noticed more condensation dripping from all the claps in my exhaust system, where previously I didn't see much of. This makes sense since there's going to be more condensation at startup that isn't burning off given the low RPMs. The clamps aren't great quality IMO, and I suppose it's good it's not all sitting in the system. Maybe some rust will form in the coming weeks and help seal it up a bit more. |
