Comfort access and kick boot close

Hi there
I have the 330i M sport European spec with the comfort access but not the power tailgate. I can easily kick open the boot but it won’t close by kicking. The dealer said it is normal, but he didn’t sound very certain. What do you think from your experiences?
Thank you

Yup, thats normal. You have to close the boot manually, not a very hard job

Thanks for your reply. And another thing, is there a trunk release button inside the car. I can’t find it.

Keep trying, if you persist long enough it will work.
Even without the motor to power the "power tailgate"

Of there is a button for the tailgate in your car, it should be in your at the bottom near your bottle holder.

The trunk release button is on the door near the bottle holder.

That part's important.

There is no button inside the car if you don’t order the electric tailgate as the dealer told me and it wasn’t in another g20 either at the dealer shop.

I hate that BMW calls the trunklid a tailgate.

I can confirm there is no release button in the drivers door if you don’t have the automatic trunk option. This also dissapointed me a bit but you can also open it with the trunk button on the key, or with yout foot ...

Are you sure the button isn't in the driver's footwell area, above the hood release handle? (That's where it is on the F30).

Otherwise, sounds like this is not a feature on European-market cars

It is a feature on the European version when you have the full electric trunk. If you don’t have this option, the trunk can still jump open by doing the footkick or use the trunk button on the keys.

Definitely a Euro vs. US spec difference. Mine's US and I don't have the power trunk lid.

Just to circle back to this, my US spec trunk opens and closes with the 'foot kick' motion.

Mine (US) opens and closes automatically with a "foot kick" motion.

It is a touch spotty, but I think it's related to my comfort access being spotty in general.

Mine has not arrived yet however, one of the demo cars would not close with the foot kick. It was pretty annoying. The other had no problem closing with the kick. I hope mine works reliably.
