Headlight Condensation
Hi all,
One of my 2019 G20 330i headlight units (BMW Laser) has a lot of condensation inside. This has been present for a while and never gone away. There is no condensation in the other headlight unit. Is this a cause for concern and should I demand that it is replaced under warranty? Last edited by RoboPapa; 12-06-2020 at 04:44 PM.. |

Mine are LED's and I had exactly the same issue. The nearside lamp was replaced under warranty by BMW with a faulty seal.
It depends on the severity, as BMW state some low level condensation is acceptable. If it disappears with the lights on after a short journey, it is normal. If it remains for days at a time, there is an issue. Looking at your picture, I would say that you may have a faulty seal and the headlamp should be replaced. Ensure you take several pictures as evidence of the severity and discuss / email the dealer before your booking. Water droplets running down the inside of the lens is definitely classed as an issue. By the time mine went into the garage, the headlight had cleared, but was replaced with no issue with the photographic evidence and discussion I had with the BMW technician prior to to my visit. Was the light alignment all set up correctly by the Dealer?
I'm a bit concerned as I have Laser Lights and they may not be set up as accurately as they were in the factory. |
