I have the same rattle coming from the boot. Did you ever get a fix for this rattle?
I also have a slight rattle from the sunroof. Only happens when the vehicle is cold. Anyone else experience this rattle? |

I have creaking from the front and rear deck. When its really warm out there and my car has been sitting outside for 8 hours at work, I start driving and I hear crackling from the front and back console. It settles once I have driven on the roads and hit a few bumps. Still very annoying.

Yep, same issue for me on cold start, turned out to be the exhaust. I’d recommend bringing it in

Update:
Took the car to the dealership to have the passenger mirror swapped out (it was making a creaking noise). While I was there I mentioned to my service advisor, "If is anyway someone can help me ID the creaking sound coming from the back and make it go away I would owe you forever!!" He picked up his desk phone, called over the shop foreman, who asked to take a ride with me. he heard the noise, immediately said, "it's the seals and the trunk mechanism." The tightened a few things lubricated the seals. Like magic the sounds are gone .... for now ... until I hear them again.

Hi all, I have a service loaner less than 1500 miles on it and it was doing the same trunk area squeak noise. I have some dupont left over from convert so i applied a tiny bit at the trunk seal rubber. It seemed to be much less and almost cant hear it. I am not sure
if this should be the real solution but so far seems like this area needs some tlc. |

Are the problematic cars equipped with the power tailgate (316) option?

I have the same issue.
Tried to drive little bit with trunk open and squeaking is gone. When I close it again, it's back. My dealer lubricated the rubber seals but it's all the same. It's so annoying... |

Nope haven't heard of a resolution yet. Been too lazy to bring it in to dealership so far.

Well at least us F30 owners are not alone in the rattles department. BMW should have really addressed this issue with the G20.

Well for the most part it's a well built quality quiet interior, but because of how quiet it is it's so much easier to pick up small noises

I picked up my car today. First they tried to lubricate rubber parts in the boot, no success. Then they took transparent teflon tape and they put it on all places where rubber meets the metal.
And it's quiet now. Unbelievable what a difference this is. I won't be too happy at the moment, I'll let it sink in and drive the car for a few days, to see if it rattle will come back. It drove me nuts, I almost started to hate the car because of it. |
