We get 93 here. That’s what I use. I used to do an E30 blend in my A4 (once every 4 tankful). I didn’t notice a gain in power or anything. But car was powerful and smooth as is. So yes.

92 octane in USA is 92 AKI which is about 96/97 RON which is pretty good stuff. 98-100 RON / 94 - 96 AKI octane USA measurement would be awesome if you are pushing the limits of extracting power from your motor.

Can we run 100+ AKI fuel in our stock car? I read somewhere that it was dangerous or not recommended since it wouldn’t make a difference in our cars? I have a gas station nearby that has 103 AKI racing gas at $8+ per gallon (93 AKI is $3.3/gallon). Wondering if I can check it out but I don’t want the dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree because the car can’t handle 103AKI

Not sure if it works but you can mix a little bit of the e85 in your tank to raise the octane. i usually put 3-4 gallons of e85 and average out to 95 octane. I can feel a difference when I get it up on the freeway but don't really do it anymore since my work hours changed and I'm always stuck in rush hour.
granted, i'm in the f33 with the b46 engine so it's not exactly the same to what you guys are running. i did go with bootmod3 stage 1 93 octane when they had their black friday special. i sold the jb+. for my next car (G20) I'm going straight to bm3, warranty be damned. |

I was like you but then I read about many people running it at 100% with no issues. I’ve been doing it for quite a few days now and zero issues so far. I run 93AKI fuel and it’s real cold here too.

I ran my JB+ at 100% on my B46 for months with no issues before I switched to BM3.

Shell 93 for my car most of the time.
For about 1500 miles (5/22/19 - 7/29/19) it was at stock setting. 60s-90s for average temp in Ohio. I maxed it out for about 5400 miles (7/29/19 - 11/27/19). 100s-50s? It didn't get cold till late in the year. For about 1100 of those miles was a 550 miles drive from Ohio to NC with one stop in the middle for bathroom break and refuel, so I think it was BP 93? |

I wonder if any one is running an aftermarket knock detector or data logging on a JB+ and noting any knock or detonation issues like abruptly pulled engine timing, etc. |

I’ve been running the JB+ for a few weeks now. Car has done just over 3000 miles and it feels better than stock.
I did some quick runs and found that my car does 0-62mph in 5.2s (0-60mph in 5.0s). 0-100mph comes up in 12.5s (These runs are NOT official by any means. Just recordings of the speedometer and then frame by frame analysis using video editing software). These were also done on a slight upward incline along with a full tank of gas. I was wondering if I could mix a couple of gallons of E85 to increase the octane (I only run 93AKI fuel from shell or BP). I’m looking at around E25 (3 gallons of E85 with 12 gallons of 93AKI). Will the car be able to handle it without any issues popping up?

Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m coming from an A4 B9 that had a piggyback and intake only. That car did 0-60 in 4.6-4.7s and quarter mile in 13.5s. The 0-100 time was 11.7-11.9s. Compared to that, my G20 didn’t feel as fast. It still doesn’t feel as fast. I’ve been reading up about JB4 but the install is holding me back. Also, I read somewhere that even with a JB4, I can only look at around 4.9s 0-60. And intakes for the g20 aren’t cheap unfortunately. I’d love to get a tune but unfortunately, what happened last time when I tried tuning has left me scarred. I’ll have to wait a bit before I have the courage to try it again. Till then, it’s only piggybacks for me unless I can find a shop that will do it for me. I know BMW says the xDrive does it in around 5.3-5.4s. Which is why I’m surprised. But like I said. I had a full tank of gas. And it was on a slight incline. I’ll try again a few days later once I’ve managed to empty my tank a bit. I’ll post what happens then here.

I don’t have my A4. It was a lease and I leased the 330i once that was due for a return. I returned it because it was a Premium plus and didn’t have a few options I wanted, that my G20 now has. Also, the payment on that car was much more than what I’m paying now since I got it right when the new model was launched and lease rates were horrible then. But yes. The car was wonderful. A few mods to make it handle better and some go fast bits and it kept me entertained for 3 years.

Is that true? Apparently only if your in sports mode is when that isn't as significant. Even in the S models. |

Yes. All Audis have that slight lag compared to BMWs. Only Audi that doesn’t have it that I’ve driven is my A7 and ex-A6. There is no lag at all with those supercharged engines. Even my SQ5 has that slight lag.

OT but I was kinda correct about the “Sport gauges” on our cars. I did some quick 0-60/0-62 and 0-100 runs a few days ago and noticed that max torque shown on the gauge was the same as what was shown without the JB+. I thought I saw the max hp go only slightly above 240 on my stock car but I guess it went up a little bit more before I glanced at it when it was stock.
I joined another website that is very popular especially when it comes to mods and spoke to someone who works with BMS. They said the sport gauges will not show any changes since the car doesn’t know it is producing more power since it’s basically being tricked. That means the car shows the same readings it did when it was stock. Which is what I believed. I had a feeling since most of the remaps mention “recalibrating the sport gauges”. Which means the gauge basically changes only with throttle input and does not actually show the power it produces. In essence, the sport gauge just makes us feel better, I guess? So unless you get a remap, the gauge will show the stock readings no matter what power the piggyback produces.
