Wiper Issues

Hi Guys.
Not sure if this topic has been discussed, can't seem to find anything about it. Recently I applied some repellent on the windscreen to help the rain drops come straight off. However, I've realised that ever since applying the substance the wipers don't seem to operate properly anymore. As the wiper comes down it seems to rub pretty hard on the windscreen, not functioning smoothly as it once used to. I've tried to clean the blades using a cloth, I've also washed the windscreen using fairy liquid and a sponge, doesn't seem to be helping the cause.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Remove it and look into a glass sealant or coating. Glassparency has an easy DIY kit.

Coca cola used to remove water repellant from screens then wash with soapy water. Not sure if this still works with newer repellants

Use some glass polish like Autoglym fast glass, should be back to good as new.

Thank you guys. I used Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Foam, gave it a good rinse, so far haven't had any issues.

Hmmm I've noticed the washer system seems to keep the water inside the wiper mechanism all neat and tidy but the result is a terribly smeary screen. Any slight fly debris gets smeared everywhere and the water jet never clears it. I was thinking of clay barring the screen and coating it in something? Any ideas?

The jets on the wiper arm is a really shit idea. It was shit on the Peugeot 405 back in the day and it’s still shit.

I've noticed this too, wonder if I need a different screenwash or even wipers.

I quite like these wipers. With ‘normal’ ones most of the water is wasted, but with this car it all seems to be used for wiping.

You can’t get water on the down-stroke though.

I was going to adjust my jets see if it helped. Also clay the screen to get it properly clean.
