With only a 1-2k discount, your looking at over 800 a month and this is all before you start adding m perf parts.

You could find a brand new, 2018 M3 Comp for around ~75k. Get it around 65-68k, your lease payment would be the same if not lower than than the 2020 340i. Low to mid 700s.
I had the same questions myself. I'm guessing those that need the newest thing on the block are the target demo for this car. Otherwise I see no other tangible benefit. To each their own though.
Just wait until you see the next m3/4 pricing. They hinted at it already with the m3 cs. That's their way of testing the waters at the 100k mark for the m3. And they are selling them. Don't expect the m3/4 to come in less than 80 for the pure. Well into 6 figures for the others well equipped.

because they could not move them. They still can not - even at 15-20% discount. That has to tell you smth.

Same story with M5. Dealers are telling me people prefer to buy M550 vs M5s.

75-80 K for 550 with 523 Hp starting in August
120K for M5 with 600 HP

with all this criticism all over these threads I wonder what this forum would've been like if it existed when the E65 and E60 premiered with the bangle butt

Went to the local BMW dealership in US to order my M340i x-drive.  I am so disappointed.

I could not get the automatic rear sunshade with manual side shades.  I was not able to order the 4-zone temperature for the rear.  I was not able to get black kidney grill and special order black side covers instead of the M340i silver Matt polished.  I couldn't believe that on the M340i HK sound system was not standard or the electric trunk closer.  I was told the credit card key was not available.

With not being able to get many other packages and options, the MSRP came close to about $68,000 thousand dollars.  Crazy for a 3 Series.

Worse, the new 3 Series compared to its competitors in its class and for the price in the US market lacks power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, comfort seats, cooled seats, 4-zone temperature, power headrest, power front seat leg extender, soft close door, and a more quiet cabine.

The cockpait is okay, but Mercedez C class, Audi A-4, and few others have a much better interactive and HD displays.  The map in the cockpit is so old technology looking.  Also I, miss the ability to switch the speedometer to a analog looking style.  Aside from changing colors to differentiate between sport, comfort and ECO, it is very disappointing.

My question is:
Under the front of the car is a proper shield or still that POS carpet material?

I have a 2017 X5M and a 2018 M5. I wanted to get the car for my step-son. Very disappointed compare to the competitors.

Not a fair comparison, that's not a 340i. But I agree, the F series looked terrible but the G series got even worse. It's looks better as mass produced luxury car than "the ultimate driving machine".

Don't get me wrong, the car looks good, but I'd recommend my mom or grandma get it, not for an enthusiast.

Not a chance. At most, the base M3 will be in the low to mid 70s.

Keep paying 60-70k for your M340s though

It has certainly created an odd clash of worlds... 340 buyers / owners justifying their purchase by stating its superiority over the M3 and M3 owners bashing it due to the inclusion of the M-light badging. All things pass with time though.

Have you seen discounts on a 2018 CS? Your crazy, it's below 100k now. The excitement didn't work. At that price you go porche.

The pure will be in the 70s and in 3 years, still in the 50s. Take a 62k 340i, and it'll be low 30s, high, 20s. Which is the better deal now?

You can tell it's a photoshop because the front slats are from the Kia and the kidney grill has the Kia diamonds.

You seriously think that front end would get pass an entire design team.

That's not a spy shot dude...That's an actual M340i and the grille is awful.

I mean when they first premiered though, many people like them now, but when it first premiered I don't remember the reception being anything but negative

Here, let me fix those numbers real quick for you . Your comparing a nicely optioned or fully loaded M340i to a non existent base M3 , yet to be released. But for argument sake ...

Base M340i : $54,000 & ( Speculation ) Base M3 : $72,000

That's an $18k price delta.

Fully loaded M340i : $70,000 , (Speculation) M3 Comp loaded: $90-100k
