Control Arms M340

Does anyone know if the G80 M3 control arms would fit on the G20 M340i. When putting the f80 control arms on my previous f30 it fit and was able to gain a little camber up front. Would love to do this mod on the G20 M340i

Doubt it as it's a completely new chassis.

Wait for the g80 to come out. I'm fairly positive you'll be able to run those lower control arms.

I was wondering the same - because like you I did the same on my F30. I'm really looking forward to the parts bin mods that are going to be possible for us when the G80 gets to market.

I don't think the G80 is a whole new chassis. The BIW is practically the same i think.

The G80 is on the same platform as the G20.

I was talking about the F series.

Front lower control arms (rear-ward arms) are:
31-10-8-095-665, left
31-10-8-095-666, right

Front pull rod (front-ward arms) are:
31-10-8-095-667, left
31-10-8-095-668, right

Now need to test this.. I will ask my local dealer if he is willing to order parts and possibly return to test.

Let us know how it goes. If it works, its a cheap upgrade. Should also add some negative camber. The only drawback from what I remember on the f20 chassis is that it messes with the track and depending on the wheel setup, you can potentially rub on the front bumper and fender liner.

Did you end up talking to the dealer and ordering the parts you listed to test it?

Yes and we decided to wait to see if the AWD arms will carry the same part numbers. Ive read in a BMW publication that the AWD M3/4 will have some changes to the front suspension and since my M340i is AWD I taught it would be a good idea to check it out before pulling the trigger.

Not yet, AWD are not out yet here in Canada

Here are the part numbers for M3 Xdrive control arms, They are indeed different from the RWD ones but I could not have any information as to what the differences are.

Front lower control arms M3 AWD:
31-10-8-095-651, left
31-10-8-095-652, right

Sadly my local dealer as a very high return fee and parts can't be test fitted. I think I will to see if millway releases some ''street'' camber plates during the winter and then decide wich solution makes more sense for me.

Just add camber correction swivels to gain -1 deg extra front camber..

oem AWD part nos 31216891257 & 58 for L&R - stealthy and warranty friendly...

SupA90 LCA are supposedly longer than G29 equivalent and should be PnP upgrade for G2x RWD + if G8x fit G2x RWD (and maybe AWD) then potentially more oem options to add front track width/castor and even more camber ;-)

Hi thanks for the suggestion, those are sure expensive tough.

Not sure if you edited your post but I taugh I read about F series Control Arms not compatible with Xdrive with lead me to watch the youtube video about it, wich I was not aware. I did have camber bushings on my F22 and did not have any problems.

I sure wouldnt want to break those G20 axles yikes.

I guess best option will be plain and simple camber plates when they get released, should be the same ones for G80 (fingers crossed)

Has anyone checked out the cross compatibility of Supra A90/mk5 top mounts with G2x ? Versus Engineering A90 Supra camber plates maybe a good option ??

Just stumbled onto this thread, looks like solutions are coming out. I have my eyes on the millway street version, I had them on my M2 and they were perfect for me with the roads we have here.

Vorshlag made up a set of camber plates based on the a90/g20 fitment.
Food for thought + Realoem confirms that OEM top mounts are the same part no. across for G2x Z4 (which I believe are also same for Supra A90) and 3/4 series, both RWD and XDrive models.....

I took the plunge based on the guy who used the Supra/G20 plates on his M3 and I ordered the Millway Street for G80.

Will be installing them on my M340i Xdrive
