Seems like you are not comparing equivalents - the DWS06 Conti is an all season tire while the Michelin PS4S is a summer tire. The Michelin all season to compare is their Pilot Sport AS4.

I know it's apples and oranges. I want to hear from end users about their experience is all I'm leaning towards the PS4s for the sportiness but the price and functionality of the DWS06s intrigues me, them being discontinued. No matter what, I'm buying tires so... any thoughts about either?

You answered your own question.

I had PS4 in two M3, DWS06 in a VW Arteon… DWS06 are great all season, with a little performance, soft sidewalls, comfortable, and relatively quiet, steering feel is decent but not remarkable. PS4 are harder, sticker, steering much more responsive, sharper transition.

That’s pretty much the difference between all season and performance tires.

I had 2 sets of the Continental DWS06 on my '17 C43 AMG sedan and they were good, long lasting tires. Decent stickiness and low road noise in the beginning up to about 15K miles, then they would be a little noisier. The reason I got them was I used to have a longer commute on these So Cal freeways so treadlife was an important factor for me.
I've since gotten a position closer to home and a shorter commute, so I'll probably get the Michelin PS4 non-run flat since I have the factory spare in my M340i.

Thanks for posting. I had been in working in LA area So I left the Bridgestone Turanzas that were on it from the factory. I definitely wasn't going to change rims and tires while I worked out there. I might be looking for a little more meat for these Carolina backroads when it rains hence the DWS06's. The inherent "softness" of non RF vs RF makes me think I won't miss it with matching squared fitment of a PS4S's

DWS are great tires, probably shouldn't be classified as all season bc they're not so good in the snow. I would bet they are pretty close to the ps4 on track tbh. For the price you can't beat them

I guess it depends on what you want, but I will try to give some perspective on my experience with the PS4 and several all-season options. I swapped my PS4s to Pilot Sport all-seasons for the winter (it was what I could get on short notice due to an unrepairable puncture) and they have been pretty good so far. For all seasons, if I had my choice the BFG G-Force Comp2 AS+ are my go to, I have had several sets and they are on my wife's X3. The PS4s were smooth and super sticky, I never felt like I was lacking for grip, but if you live somewhere where you routinely see near or below freezing temps, you will need to remove them for the winter. The DWS06 are solid all-seasons, I had some on my old GTI and liked them but they were not close to the PS4s for performance. Even the PSAS is a solid all season, but I can feel when I approach the limit a bit more on some tighter/faster ramps.

I am running the DWS06+ all seasons for the rainy/winter season here in northern California. I have a pair of the PilotSport4S I swap with and run in summer. Really happy with how both have been performing.
