Appreciate your brief thoughts, if you ever make a video feel free to post it here. More data points the better
Mine sounds the same but with fewer pops and burbles. The good news is, the exhaust brings out some burbles that were stifled by the OEM exhaust. So that is nice.

However, it doesn’t pop and burble nearly as much as the 2020 model, and I’m fine with that. I thought that was cool but a bit much.

It has a pretty loud cold start, but afterward it just sounds perfect:

1. If you are in a quiet residential neighborhood I recommend Eco Pro mode to keep things chill at low RPMs. You will be totally unnoticed

2. When you drive normally it is definitely louder but still refined

3. It really wails when you go up on the RPMs. If you want to sound like a major bad ass, drive hard in Sport + mode. OMG the exhaust just sings to you then, definitely an equal competitor to my Porsche at that point. This is exactly how this car should sound

4. Expect mild drone. Not zero drone, but I don’t think you can do better than this with a non-OEM exhaust

My neighbor heard the cold start on my AWE exhaust while shoveling his driveway for the first time as I was backing my car out.

Best way to describe his response was just a stare, perhaps of curiosity or fascination LOL

I may order these. Worst case you just send them back if they dont fit. I think the black chrome ones would look nice. I would probably run these until I decide to do a catback awe or dinan.

They definitely do not stock them. Probably drop shipping from ali express. I found them on ebay for $50 less. At least with ebay you have leverage.

Looking at the brackets, i have no idea how they are going to mount. The oem tips have way different brackets. Im going to see if i can get them to send the install instructions to me.

I bought them during Black Friday so they were $255 shipped.

I thought the same thing about the brackets. They don't look correct at all but I'm hoping the pictures are just inaccurate.

If they don't fit, I'll return them. Bought with PayPal so I do have some protection there.

I saw the same thing with the brackets and emailed them 2 weeks ago about the fitment. Haven't heard back yet.

I am leaning towards Dinan. I like the quad tips and how they added a second exhaust flap so there will be 1 exhaust flap on each side.

I ordered AA catted dp. Depends on how that one sounds alone, I will decide on whether should I get the Dinan or not.

By the way, I was on the phone with the BMW dealer I bought my car from and I was complaining about how BMW changed exhaust tune and how my car doesn't sound as good as 2020s car. I told him I was getting a dp to help with the sounds and he said be careful with that your warranty will be voided. I tried to explain him an aftermarket part is not going to void the entire warranty on the car. They may deny warranty for engine related issues but if my sunroof or headlight breaks down they can't just say you have installed a dp so we can't honor your warranty. Am I wrong to think like this or is he right?

You're thinking is correct. They have to prove that the part contributed to whatever failed.

For those of you whom I’ve been talking to about modding my Porsche, I just started a thread at Rennlist with pics of my recent mods. This car has been completely transformed. Link here:

I have the AWE track exhaust. Had it for over a month and today I fit in an AA catted high flow downpipe which really made the car about 10-20% louder and really made the tone incredible! It sounds so mean and aggressive.

Many many things I did not like about the MPE.

1) Not nearly loud enough. Louder than stock forsure, but definitely not loud enough for my taste. Not going to turn heads or sound as aggressive as mean as you want. I listen to my music at 85-100% max volume and this I would compare it to 40-50% max volume.

2) Sounded thin and very high pitched. Did not have the mean, aggressive, sound that both me and you are looking for.

3) Not full bodied exhaust, missing the bass and the exhaust kinda seemed like a little whining baby next to my AWE

4) Very minimal burbles (Compared to the AWE)

5) Boring look

(I am also an audiophile btw which means I'm extremely picky and fickle with what my car sounds like. It's in fact the most important thing to me couldn't care about pushing power or speed)

Things I love about the AWE

1) Loud, but definitely not obnoxiously loud like some dodges. It's a VERY VERY good level of loud. It's not so loud to the point where other people are looking at you and cringing. It sounds AMAZINGLY loud
(I've had old ladies in there 50s ask me at red lights why their BMW doesn't sound like this. Gotten a lot of compliments saying it "sounded beautifully")

2) Full bodied sound, crisp and aggressive sounding high notes, deep rumbling low notes. Bassy when you want it

3) An insane amount of burbles (on sport+) and an occasional pop here and there (I have the 2022 m340i)

4) LOOKS SEXY AS FUCK

Things I did not like about the AWE

1) I have the track version so there's no way to turn it off, granted I love love hearing a nice sounding engine and it's extremely rare for me to not like the sound of my car, but yeah it has happened less than the amt of fingers I've had. This is a very very small problem and in no way would I swap the exhaust for the touring version but there is that version if you want (if you wanted your exhaust quiet)

2) It's honestly not loud enough for my taste. I usually listen to my music on my headphones at 85-100% max volume. I would say the AWE exhaust sounds like 70-82% max volume. xDDDDD

3) Loud cold start (good& bad depending on how much you care about your neighbors and what hours you drive it), but it's short and doesn't last long. Personally the cold start is one of my favorite things about this car, but I understand why this can be a negative!

tl;dr

MPE = thin, not loud, whiny

AWE = loud, but no obnoxiously loud (could be a tad bit louder) great tone, amazing sound *chefs kiss*

Hope this helps a little bit!

OP (also will PM you my car instagram if you want to hear it!)
I'd be interested in hearing it! My M340 xdrive arrives in 2 weeks.

Going to resurrect this thread. Because the AWE Touring exhaust is not valved, is there any drone in cabin? I want the car to be loud when driven hard but somewhat subdued when driven normally.

There is pretty much no drone at highway speeds. I would say that the cabin is a tad louder for sure (not sure how to avoid that), and some would call it slight drone. But I have gone on long road trips with our family a few times and we don’t even notice it.

I also have air intake and high flow cat with this exhaust on 2020. If I want quiet, either Eco or Comfort mode...and you can have a normal conversation inside cabin. With sport+, which I always use...you do get some drone around 3,000 rpm...but, when driving a 400hp sports car, do you want quiet or want to hear a sports car? Valves are way overrated...if you are spending close to $2,500 on the exhaust why wouldn't you want to hear it..

Let's not confuse normal exhaust sound and actual droning. The AWE exhaust is definitely audible around 3k rpm, but it's not droning (at least for me). If you want your cabin to be very quiet on long drives, then the AWE is not for you.
