Rain Sensing Closing of Sunroof

Sharing with G20 members....

Found this Thread on the G05 forum and coded to see if it worked - https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...v#post26779217

I can confirm the "close to tilt position after 6hr" appears to work. Too cold to test the "close to tilt when it rains".

Specific FDL Coding:

FZD2 1D93 Regenaktiv aktiv
FZD2 1D93 Regenaktiv_robust aktiv
FZD2 1D93 StatusRCTime Defaultwert

HU_MGU REGEN_SCHLIESSEN aktiv

FDL Coding to close rather than tilt the sunroof - https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=11

Where did you find:
FZD2 1D93 Regenaktiv aktiv
FZD2 1D93 Regenaktiv_robust aktiv
FZD2 1D93 StatusRCTime Defaultwert

I can find regen_schliessen and have it activated but the box is grayed out. Trying to find these other 3 items to activate. Thank you.

The first three parameters are in the FZD2 ECU...

I’m not sure whether the entire coding can be done with BimmerCode. I’d like to know if possible too.

Yes it can be done both ECU's have to be coded in expert mode very easy and quicker than using ESys Launcher Pro 3.7 which I also have. When in expert mode just type in "regen" in the search function and it will automatically find the FDL parameters you need to change as outlined in the OP post above.

I changed mine to close fully and extended the time from 6 hrs to 8 as my X5 sits in the hot Queensland sun from 8 till 4 in the afternoon much like living in Florida. Really wish I could also enable my windows to do the same like I did in my 2008 VW Tiguan using VCDS software from Ross Tech

Didn't even consider it would work after engine was off and car locked. If that's the case even better.

Is there any way to code for the sunroof to fully close when it detects rain and not tilt?

Yes read the first post of this thread. The OP has added a link to another post which highlights what to code for the sunroof to close fully instead of to the tilt position

Keep in mind that after this coding, you will need to go into iDrive settings and enable the option. It will appear under general settings and I only just realized this yesterday!

After connecting the car in BC and have green dots next to each ECU. Look for the Roof Function Centre (FZD2 ECU) Click on the ECU. Then look for expert mode tab click on that, then do a search for "Regen" BC will then find all the relevant FDL lines in that ECU with regen in it and then change the values as per the OP's post once this done remember to press code command and follow the instructions on the screen. You will have to repeat the exercise with the Body Domain Controller (HU_MGU ECU) where there is only one parameter (FDL code) to change

Close Moonroof when it rains:
HU ECU:
HU_MGU_REGEN_SCHKIESSEN from inaktiv to AKTIV
then in Moonroof ECU:
REGENAKTIV from inaktiv to AKTIV
REGENAKTIV_ROBUST from inaktiv to AKTIV
STATUSRCTIME to DEFAULTWERT
REGENPOSITION to GESCHLOSSEN

Note: a new option will then appear in iDrive to close moonroof when it rains. Must check box to enable.
