Why? The RS5 is faster 0-60, and quarter mile.

This car is fast, plain and simple. For most people, you just don't need anything faster.
I have something faster, but I have to say that the M340i does NOT let me down, especially when you consider its practicality. It is as fast as yesterday's supercars

^ Probably so, but not by much.
The M340i is already a sub 4 second 0-60 car, as has been demonstrated by many people. It's already faster than some "real" M cars, at a lower price It's not a track car, of course, but nobody really buys this car for that reason

I've owned both, and while it maybe "close" it's still more than a half second difference to 60 (tested both myself - same locations and similar conditions). That's a big difference, and it feels it as well.

^ 3.6 sec on Motortrend for Audi RS5
3.8 sec for the M340i That's not that dramatic. I'm sure the Audi will pull away stronger in the quarter mile or longer, it's at the higher speeds and top of the RPM range that I think the M340i wavers a bit, whereas I gather the Audi will keep pulling all the way

This person demonstrates an under 3.7 second 0-60 in the M340i, and that's with 2 passengers in the car!

It's also the worst video ever "demonstrating" 0-60 pulls.

I’m not doubting for a second that an RS5 is faster. It’s more powerful and reaches a higher top speed, and it would easily beat the M340i in a longer race. But in a quick 0-60 sprint I don’t think the difference would be so dramatic. I’m even convinced that my 911 wouldn’t be very far ahead of my BMW in a shorter race, so impressed am I with its pull from the lower ranges. |

^ RS4 has the same HP as an RS5, and I would guess is an even lighter car

They are similar in weight but the RS5 Sportback is 0.2 seconds quicker to 100 km/h (62 mph) - according to Audi. Aerodynamics probably helps and lower suspension/center of gravity.

The same way a G80 M3 feels a good bit faster than an RS5 and it's only a few tenths faster to 60. Anyways I'm not going argue about this...I've owned both and can speak to both. Come back when you can say the same and we can talk...

Also, I asked how u could feel a difference as in, does the audi hook up or launch harder? Dunno why u get so defensive about a simple question. |
