Anyone have the Active Autowerke exhaust on their car?
I've seen that it was released a few months ago but haven't seen any reviews or videos other than the one AA released. Would like to hear it or at least hear reviews on a 2021.

We have sold a few kits, it's one of the better sounding exhausts with a very reasonable price

I personally haven't heard either in person. Having said that, the clips I've seen online, it appears the AA is louder. Comparing the mufflers, the AA is slightly smaller hence the reason I also think it is louder.
Waiting on some more people to order and post reviews before I pull the trigger. The AA downpipe alone is great but it does leave me wanting more sound.

The downpipe separate give you a mild sound increase. Not enough on its own for most drivers. The axle-back is more noticeable and preferred for daily drivers looking to upgrade the sound only and don't care about the additional power from the downpipe. AA catted downpipe + axle-back has the best sound, in my opinion. It's not obnoxiously loud but combining the two parts gives the exhaust a much deeper mid-range tone.

So here is a question:
For stock downpipe, which is louder: AA catback versus AWE touring non-res catback? Ultimate showdown! I bet AWE is louder because it doesn't even have a muffler!

Hi All,
I've been debating between these 2 systems and torn. Everyone's thoughts have been identical to mine. Both systems sound great. IMO I like AA Catted DP + AA valved axle back exhaust. I'm also a fan of AA products. My only concern here is you need to cut the midpipe and there is no turning back to stock easily without purchasing a stock exhaust system, which is why i've considered the AWE Touring Non-Res. With the AWE you also lose the valve control, they have a module that plugs into the valve motor so the ECU doesn't go wacky on you. So my .02 is if you are looking to go back to stock exhaust at some point to sell the car etc. AWE may be a cleaner install and simpler. AA is great, but would pair with the catted DP to maximize output and further deepen the sound. you will notice about 30-40% increase in sound by combining the 2. I am still conflicted and watched countless videos/talked to people who have the AWE system. At this point it may just come down to preference. I feel that the AA setup is more of an OEM+ type sound, but still aggressive and solid for daily driving. Unfortunately, there isn't many videos of the AA exhaust paired with the DP and you only get as good of sound from a video as the mic will pick up. I imagine both exhausts sound really good in person though. Open to everyone's thoughts on which way to go. If i go the AA route, i am happy to post a video... Just FYI my car is completely stock and this would be the first engine mod done. |

I may be interested. I live in Austin though and would require shipping. What would you be looking to get for the pair?
Also, how do you like the setup? From the videos i've seen it sounds really nice - taking in account it is only as good as the mic recording and speakers. Last edited by CJCBimmer; 03-27-2023 at 03:13 PM.. Reason: Also - What year M340 is this on? |

I have AA catted DP and exhaust and love it. Mine is a 2020 but as promised no CEL and definitely worth it IMO.
