Anyone with Dinan+ tune?

Been comparing piggyback tunes vs. possible other ways to gain power while keeping a warranty and stumbled upon Dinan+:

https://www.dinancars.com/products/s...900-B46-G-S1-W

Looks like it comes with a factory warranty match and boosts power by 37 WHP / 39 lb-ft at 91 octane. At $900, it's a bit pricey.

Anyone have the Dinan+ software (specifically for the G20 - preferably 330), and how is it?

It's a flash tune similar to other options like bm3.

advantages: Dinan will match BMW's warranty if BMW refuses to cover a repair.

Disadvantages: price, features, power

Much healthier tune for the engine. Not nearly as much R&D goes into the tunes on BM3.

Granted, some people desire straight #s as opposed to driving experience and reliability. To each their own.

If this could be done all remotely (i.e. not sending my DME to get unlocked) I would be all about it. Unfortunately seems like any flash at this point can't be done from your home.

Yeah, I was hoping a local shop (Dinan Authorized) would be able to do it, but it seems they send it in regardless, at least according to what I've read.

Same here. If they could bench flash it near me where I don't have to worry about losing my DME in transit and having the car be a huge brick, I would've flash tuned my car a long time ago.

I do not want to turn this into Dinan vs bm3.

You state bm3 is not healthy for the engine.
Data logs will clearly show how the engine is reacting to the tune, im not aware of any data that backs up your claim

Not nearly as much R&D goes into the tunes on BM3.
Do you have any proof on this?

Dinan owns BMWs that they tear down and dissect and use for their own R&D. They evaluate components, dyno calibrate the tune (obviously), stress test it on a track, do altitude runs, etc. I'm willing to pay extra for this time and effort spent in development. Not everyone wants to or is able to read data logs. I am sure there are reputable tuners on BM3 and I'm sure it's preferable to certain people. Like I said, to each their own.

That is new info to me. I'd definitely trade in numbers for a reliable tune. If only bench flashing didn't need ECUs to be sent out.

To each their own, that is correct.

You like Dinan and so do thousands of other customers. As I said before, its got its advantages, and it's a reliable tune with an unmatched warranty. We sell Dinan BTW.

But you should not put other brands down and claim that their maps are unhealthy for the engine, especially when all data prove otherwise.

As far as testing, what you described is very common. PTF , BMS, Active Autowerke, all do that when they release a new tune.

Good to know! Personally I am waiting until an OBD version is released anyways. I would like to be able to keep OTA updates and not have to send off to be re-flashed every year.

I may be waiting awhile it seems..

Does anyone know when the Dinan+ will be available for 2021/2022 models? Really like how the Dinan includes the 4 year/50K mile factory warranty.

he just posted your proof mike. BM3 is simply not as safe considering all the user controls and no real world testing unless someone or yourself has done logs lol
