Just coded sport plus; holy cow!

Recently got a 2022 bmw 330I and came across this forum. Read about the bimmercoding and got the obd plug in and the app. Followed the YouTube videos and got my sport plus all coded. The difference is amazing! Where sport would keep the rpm a little lower sport plus seems to always keep the rpms between 2500-3000 so the boost is always ready to go. Downshifts are a bit more aggressive as well as upshifts. Would definitely not recommend cruising on the highway as it seems it keeps the rpms around 3K or higher and stays in 6th gear while regular sport goes to 8th gear with lower rpms. But if you're looking for a joyride through some curves or backroads this is it!! I did have one question and one comment...

Comment - I panicked a little when I did the coding and got a "parking light malfunction error". The error went away when I started the car. Looking through the forum seems others get this same error.

Question - when updating the individual modes; what's the difference between engine and transmission? For example what would happen if you selected sport plus engine but comfort transmission?

Yup. Coding in sport plus is almost like adding a piggyback. Before I get flamed by the others, I said "almost".

And I've wondered what sport plus engine is. Transmission makes sense. Like you said. In sport and D, car doesn't hold onto gears and drops revs. In sport plus and D, car holds onto gears and revs higher even when cruising. But I believe that's the transmission mapping and not engine mapping. Wonder what sport engine mapping is.

Sport+ for the engine setting maximizes throttle response. It makes the throttle pedal more sensitive to input. It is akin to a built in Sprint Booster or Pedal Commander.

Sport+ tranny shifts quicker, revs higher, downshifts sooner, and shifts more firmly.
