You didn't mess anything up that's how it works from the factory. If you turn on your fog lights it also turns on your low beams and the auto high beams if you have them.

So it's working again now! After a out 5 minutes just sitting in the car with the heat running, the lighting icons all just turned on at the same time and light up like normal again. Is it possible the bimmercode restore coding sometimes takes a few minutes to go through?

Such a relief it's fixed; just wish I knew what caused this issue? Thinking it was the feature of allowing foglights to be on with high beams?

The light icons on the left come on when your lights are on. Maybe it hadn't hit the darkness threshold yet and when you came back to your car it was dark enough for them to turn on. If your lights are fully off (mid day in the sun) then when you click your fog light button all the lights will come on too.

That's good to know I didn't mess something up; thank you! Still learning the car. For some reason I was thinking if I had the "auto" button pushed it would light something up or if the daytime running lights are on a light icon would be lit but I guess not.
