I don´t have any pictures of the underside but i´m pretty sure there was a layer of metal. It wasn´t the plain circuit board.

Did you use the thermal tape they came with, or did you use thermal paste? |

I haven’t even installed mine yet but I reached out to Icedriver and they are sending me a new set. No questions asked, so that’s awesome. I asked for the updated ones with metal backings.

FYI for anyone doing this, I suggest mixing the thermal plaster they provide with a thermal paste for computer CPUs. Something like a 50\50 ratio or 75% plaster 25% thermal compound might be better to transfer that heat to the heat sink better to avoid the over heating of the board

Just pulled the trigger on the yellow full set. (modules)
After reading how much fun it is to remove the board on the G20 figured it made sense to spend the extra $$$ on the full modules so I don’t ruin the OEM ones. Makes for an easy swap back to stock if need be. Purchased from ICEDRIVER on Ali. These are the newer updated boards (V2) with the metal backing for better heat removal to the heat sink. |

Just received my 2nd set of RGBW boards. I’m a bit confused though. The back looks the same but the front of them is different. I’m trying to communicate with the seller but there seems to be a language barrier. I send him examples of ones with new metal backings, which all I can find are the yellow ones. Then he just keeps saying those are the yellow ones and I’m like yeah I know. However, do the new RGBW ones not have metal backings like the yellow ones….no answer yet.
New one on the left, old one on the right.
