I've driven BMW for the last 15 years, and in the last 3-4 years ive noticed the number of scratches and chips on the windscreen.
My previous G20 had scratches all over it and small chips.

My G22 is going into Autoglass today for a replacement windscreen. A small rock hit the top edge of the screen, and now it's cracked fully from left to right!! Been waiting 2 weeks for replacement to come into stock...

Sounds like a good idea except everyone ghosts me whenever I ask a film manufacturer or installer how long it will take before windshield wipers scuff the protective film. The answer must not be one they're proud of.

This is a great point. If I do replace the windshield I’d look into protective film after going through this. But I wouldn’t have thought to ask about that, thank you

Oh man, I've had 3 windshields over the last 80k kms and currently waiting 9 weeks for BMW to deliver another one - there are no windshields all over EU, supply chain issues.

I've been driving with cracked windshield for 2 months ;(
