Front license plate delete?

I live in a state that does not require a front license plate, but a lot of g20s i'm looking at already have the frame mounted. Is there a good way to remove the frame and cover the holes that doesn't look terrible?

Are u looking into used G20's? Removing the frame is straightforward but they did drill to install, so those holes need to be repaired and paint matched($$$).

For new ones u can pick an incoming VIN and request dealer not to install front license plate.

Yes, used market. I was wondering if maybe they had color matched grommets. Seems like i remember having these on an e36 m3 or Civic hatchback I had when I was younger, but they would likely look pretty bad on the g20 m sport bumper.

BumperPlugs.com. Not as nice as an undrilled bumper, but a cheaper option if it's already drilled.

Those plugs might be the way..

When I was younger, I might have considered the euro plate since they do look better, but it seems silly now.

I would get the front bumper refinished. Most likely if buying used, it probably will have scrapes and rock chips anyway.

I live in Oklahoma where we do not need front plates. My M440 has just finished assembly and I'm getting it delivered to the Performance Centre. Would I need to tell anyone not to drill the holes in the front or is it too late for that?

At local dealers, the car rolls off the trunk with no license plate frame installed(it is instead in the rear trunk), so as long as u can inform PDI people to not install, then u will be OK.

PCD should have similar PDI process, so do inquire and instruct as needed.

The ones i'm looking at have less than 3k miles, and i haven't noticed any chips. Ideally, i'll find one without the front plate bracket. I'm already paying COVID markup, and adding another 1k for paintwork + the hassle would be tough to swallow just out of principle.

Thank you. I'm not sure what PDI is though.

PDI=preliminary delivery inspection, it is a form that dealer tech has to fill out before a car can be delivered to customer.

Like bavarianride said. The dealer installs the late holder after signing for the car (atleast that was the case at two dealers here I bought cars from). So you can ask them to not install the plate. Some dealers will agree without any issues. Others will make you sign a waiver saying you asked them to not install the plate (in states where front plates are required by law). Not sure how PCD works but it should be similar.
