G21 3 Series Touring Patent Renders
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com These renders seem to be conflicting the actual prototype spyshots as regards the third window / Hofmeister kink area though Last edited by advantage20; 10-09-2018 at 02:10 PM.. |

The patent images are correct.
If you look closely at the camouflaged test mule, there is a piece of body cladding that has been attached to the body, to cover/mask the true design of that specific area of the car. It's a very well-disguised test car... |

I've seen the cladding that would suggest that indeed, however the rear window trim seems so realistic, well-fitting and brand new in shape - not a part taken from another model and slapped on - that I believe it could still be the real thing despite the patent images, and I do think it does look better old school style on the Touring rather than the rear window kicking up X3 style.

I really don't get that raising lower line of that rear window.
That fake line on the mule looks much better.

FYI, the same thing was said last time around. With the GT getting the axe, seems logical the wagon would persist.

I am disappointed to see the X3 E83 style rear windows. I do not like it all, I hoped for a normal Hoffenmeister kink or at least its new interpretation as in the sedan.
Sad to see that with each generation they try to invent something new and forget key design features of each Bimmer. I wonder if we get in Europe M340i because it is still not sure if it comes in Touring body too. I find it sad that this version is only built with xDrive only Goodbye RWD Tourings with gasoline inline 6 pots... |
