Bmw m340i build

Hello I am building my m340i and wanted to ask if I have everything necessary to get the most hp possible

-Pure 800 or Pure 850 turbo

- 6-Piece Ultimate-Spec Cooling Package
https://titanmotorsports.com/product...ooling-package

- Active Autowerke catted downpipe

- ecu sent out to get unlocked right now

- Awe resonated touring exhaust

For these I have two questions

1. Should I buy a dinan carbon fiber intake or is there a better one available?

2. Is this substantial enough to get 700-600 hp? If not what do I need.

Definitely not an expert here, but looking at several build for the B58TU, a guy was mentioning how weak are the pistons when you reach these numbers therefore, I would add forged rods and pistons for a piece of mind.

Also what tune are you planning to run it?

Please share/reference where you heard the above regarding piston hp limit. I haven't heard that before.

Of course building engine internals always will add peace of mind...but if it isn't necessary...

B58 takes to mods beautifully, love this engine!

And OP, your mod path looks good. An intake might had 1-2 hp, but the difference in sound (turbo whoosh!) is the biggest change, IMO.

Keep us up to date on how your build goes & your experience, thanks for sharing!

In one of these two videos it's been mentionned I beleive, however very informative :

https://youtu.be/o7ld5ZJh5SU

https://youtu.be/eT8ZRb1Out8

Playing with big numbers, even if it's not required you don't want to be stressed when you WOT 😎🎄

I myself broke an engine once cause it was modified the wrong way, didn't upgrade the clutch, and the flywheel ended leaving the transmission case and destroyed the block and more... All that to say some things are not required but strongly advised even on our beautiful piece of engineering that the B58 is.

Trying to learn from my mistakes.

That is a good list; I suggest you reach out to a custom tuner with your mod list and get their opinion on how much power they can safely extract from this build.

--Yes, with port and a lpfp you'll hit even close to 800

--Most importantly, you need to add port injection with a motiv reflex and an LPFP set up.

Okay so I am looking around and this is the best port injection I can find its 950 cc.

https://precisionraceworks.com/produ...40023028498625

Im not fully sure if this works with the port injection I chose but will figure out later

https://www.viscontituning.com/produ...41359169618083

I cannot find any low pressure fuel pump the only one I found is a may delivery

https://www.znmperformance.com/bmw-b...e-sp-bmb58-fp/

Is this all good? I would like to order them now if good.

Okay so I have now finished and purchased all of my parts for my car,

Mods: Pure 850 turbo, motiv reflex plus, intake manifold csf, pfs LPFP, awe touring resonated, active autowerke catted downpipe

Tune: Paul Johnson custom tune

I am going to a place called parts score for install/tune and was quoted about 6k. In about 1 month - 2 months I will have it fully built and completed.

Now I have 1 more question

1. Do I need anything else that would prolong its durability? Pistons, rods, etc

One thing no one has mentioned is the transmission, the stock transmission handles maybe up to 550-600whp before it starts slipping so you definitely need to take it out and get it sent out to get built up to handle that power.

As mentioned, with a pure850 the trans will literally be crying for help. Also, not sure why you did all of that and stayed on BM3 when ecutek would make the car 10x better. Every fast gen 2 car is on ecutek for a very real reason.

Looks like your car is a 2022. How are you going to tune it with those mods?

The only option is if you are going to send your ECU to Finland to get unlocked. Nobody else can do it.

OP mentioned he already sent out his DME to be unlocked.

Ah, gotcha didn't see it was a 2021+. And sorry man custom tune Bm3 is not better than ecutek. Ecutek is WAY more advanced for this platform. Ecutek even has canbus integration. It can literally read and control port injection, meth, etc and setup fail safes on the stock DME. As I mentioned every fast B58TU car is on ecutek. Just look at the top 50 list. All the best with the build!

Just got down getting Active autowerke catted downpipe installed in my awe touring resonated exhaust. Here is the sound clip

I have all the parts now and just waiting on a good time to ship out the ecus

Im also hearing a lot of bad reputation about the pure turbos and the mild hybrid system fighting each other, not sure if true.

600-700 wheel or crank?

I would go catless and look at big boost turbos (Precision or EFR).
