Thinking of going from M8 Comp to M4 Comp

Thanks, love the car but I do miss the 360 cameras. My M8 had them and our 330i has them.

To strangers who aren’t familiar with BMWs, M4 looks just like a regular 4 cylinder 4 series. They don’t know and not give a damn.

You will miss your M8 once you down grade to M4.

Some M4 owners would like to get an M8 but they couldn’t.

If I were you I would keep driving the M8 until next Gen M4 comes up if still interested in M cars.

Current G8X M3/M4 will look outdated in 2 years.

Bottom line, your money, your choice. I’m just giving my 2 cents since you posted this thread.

I've already made the trade and don't miss the M8 at all. I disagree about the looks, a Camaro friend of mine said he couldn't tell the difference between my 330i and my M8, the fronts look the same. My M4 looks much more aggressive.

The M8 definitely looks much higher quality compared to the M4. The interior also is much higher quality. You get the car properly tuned it will sound like a freaking bad ass hyper car..

The S58 is an amazing engine, but if you get the V8 tuned correctly trust me, you’ll be one happy bro..

That’s just wrong, it is essentially the same. M8 has alcantara for the headliner and the rear package shelf, the seats are quilted but it’s the same seat and the same merino leather, and you get heated armrests, but everything else is basically the same.

M8s feel heavy to drive to me, the M4 is much more nimble feeling. And I'm pretty sure tuned M4s are quicker than tuned M8s because of the weight, I know people have gone 9s with intake, downpipes and E40 tunes.

This is true. When I see a BMW sedan/coupe come up behind me on the freeway, I have a tough time determining if it’s an M car or not. I’m getting old, I guess. But with the G8x, that is not the case. I think Dukec’s design will become an admired trait — unique grill design signaling the end of the combustion era. Those damn EVs have basically no grill.

I actually hated the grilles when it first came out, one of the reasons I went M8 instead of M4. After it being our for a while they grew on me and now the previous design looks really dated to me.

I was looking for a V8TT before I committed to the M4 Comp xDrive; V8s and bigger engines sound so much better than any 6. Though the M8 is fast in a straight line, it drives heavy in my opinion. The M4 also looks more proportional than the M8 and it's definitely more nimble/sporty.
As for the nose of the G80/82, it was love at first sight. My son, who is also a car guy, can't stand the G80/82 face. But then, I also like the face lifted Macan GTS and the R8. To each his own. First world problems.
