When I display the MEDIA view in fullscreen and choose RADIO I get 3 sections in the sceen, the station's logo/track details, the list of stations and the list of options, as shown in the attached photo.

I thought that after a short time the station's logo/track details expanded to fill the whole screen, but it doesn't do that. I'm wondering whether I have imagined that's what used to happen and it didn't actually do that, or whether it should do that and my recent OS update has caused it not to happen.

I'd be very grateful if someone let me know what happens on the screen.

With other media (e.g. Spotify) tapping the bit on the left brings up the track full screen. Perhaps you’re remembering that?

I tried that on Spotify and USB and it didn’t do anything in either.

It's not an issue, I just wanted check my ID7 hadn’t developed a fault following the software update. What made me question this was that I recently had an i4 as a loan car for 3 weeks when my car was at the dealership whilst they tried to track down a very intermittent knock from the rear of my car - with ID8 in that car the MEDIA screen did switch to full screen after a short time.

Whilst on the subject of displays, something that seems a little inconsistent is that when you have NAV/MAPS in full screen view, you initially get the map and an options section on the right. That options section disappears after a short time - I would have thought the equivalent options section on the MEDIA screen would have similarly disappeared after a short time.

Mine's the same - never managed to change it... Kids are always asking what song is playing on the radio... "yes, kids, it's Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murde"

To answer the kids you could always touch the Recognise Track "button" in the options! 👍

If I am being honest, the media screens on the pre LCI can are one thing that i believe let the car down.

If I am doing short journeys (to and from work each day as an example) I tend to listen to the radio via the DAB . I do not understand why the station artwork cannot be shown in the images other than the BBC stations. Also why sometimes the BBC Images appear to be blurred and pixelated too. This was never a problem on my VW Golf prior to getting into a BMW.

The other issue (possibly not down to BMW?) is when the car automatically plays SPOTIFY when you switch on if you have been using it on your mobile. The only way i can stop this is deleting and reinstalling the App on the phone when this happens.

I know these are small things but they do wind me up, be interested to see if this is the same on the LCI models.

This should hopefully help you, it's for Android but I guess the same principles apply in IOS.

Go to Settings/Apps/Android Auto/Additional Settings in the app/Customise launcher. In there untick Spotify and restart and your phone's Spotify should never then connect to the car and mess up the inbuilt Spotify.
