Saw the new 3 series uncovered on the streets of Santa Monica today. Only the emblems were missing. Looks great actually!

Yeah I've already grown accustomed to the joined grilles and M Sport bumper, but the M Performance grille looks a little weird still.

Yeah the joined grilles I didn't really find so bad. The gray mirror caps and weird grill on the m340i just bothers me. Not sure I'll get used to it, I want to see a m340i in mineral gray or something....

anyone else here after being an estoril blue F30 owner, get sick of that sort of blue?

That looks really good out on the street. From the front it looks low and wide, the front fenders have M3 like flares. It looks modern and neither the bumper or kidneys look overly busy or disproportional. The now almost total lack of trunk outlines is still weird on a dreier 4-door but isn’t a deal breaker. If this thing brings back the dynamics that deserve the the ultimate driving machine stamp, it should be a winner.

The kidneys and headlights still looks like folded out sunglasses though

Can't tell for sure by looking at the first photo, but did this M340i include the cutout in the bumper for the collision warning system? The photos BMW revealed did not show this sensor and it's a bit concerning knowing that the cheaper models have it standard but the M340i will not...

If you look at the second pic there doesn't seem to be a cutout. I'm also confused as to why the top of the line trim wouldn't have it standard if the 330i will.

Maybe it's a camera based system?

As my dealer said when I bought my car: Do you actively drive? Then you do not need it. Get the performance exhaust!

(Also these are only renderings. No Live Photo's yet.)

I think it looks great! Thanks for the pics! I was never really taken by the F30, though we got one for the wife anyway. This is the first 3 I’ve been properly excited about since we bought my E92.

I love the proportions. Would be my daily if it was 10% smaller proportionally

Hopefully it will be an easy swap with the 330i grille... with the active shutters stuck in the open position

Not a fan, I'm disappointed.. besides for the color and engine/suspension the body style is def not what I'm used to from BMW. Might look into an f80 m3 instead.. better color options as well..

not sure why they went with blue then cover the BMW logo. Might as well choose black or white so it blends in with every other car.. or grey to blend in with the cars in that first photo

Aftermarket grill makers are gonna have a few banner years.
Overall it looks better than stock photos. The swishes and swooshes are not as exaggerated.

There are alot of BMWs in Satan Monica. 2 of the 3 photos have more than 1 BMW!

German press information said full LED, inside and outside, all models.

They cover the badges because the model is not yet officially released - maybe it's the strict german discipline, I don't know.

That grill looks like an AMG mockoff, not really a good idea.

But concerning kidney size, yes they are bigger than on the F10, but what about that Audi or Volvo in the back, the Hyundai to the right?

Yep - I went from EB to Mineral Grey - not sure what to get next.

I saw an X7 (assuming by the size) in full camo on the streets here in Orange County a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone else noticed the M340i (or maybe all US spec models) have slightly different rear tail lights? It looks like the frosted area at the brake lights are bigger on the M340i than the 330i pictures I've seen.

I personally think the G20 styling looks more like a Hyundai sedan trying to look like a BMW than a BMW designed well.

I'm glad I'm hanging on to my f30. Driving dynamics or not, I feel that the BMW design has taken a step too far into the "try hard" camp over the function camp. Like the unnecessary notch in the lights and the oddly designed exhaust flares.

Will the m340i have wider rubber than the F30? Anyone know?
