That’s not what I see for M340i US.
What market are you in and what model?

Perhaps having LONDON under his name on the UK section of the forum might be a clue.

Can’t see that on the BP iOS app.
Thanks for clarifying. Figured it was different market.

This is the UK forum. Strange that doesn’t show in the app - it’s obvious from the web interface.

A lot of people use the "New Posts" option in the app which shows posts from all the G20 sub-forums but doesn't show which sub-forum they are actually posted in for some reason.

This is an M340i. Just seems totally inappropriate to have that huge hexagonal monstrosity on such a car.

....and it's on the wrong side!

I'm old enough to remember the Austin Allegro. And look how that turned out.

YES! I bet the BMW design team was so chuffed with themselves when they dreamt up this ‘innovative’ concept

Certainly not on a UK spec car.

The UK configurator only shows that wheel on non M Sport models.

Is the M340i not an M sport model then

I'm assuming that's a mistake in the configurator. That's the steering wheel for 'Sport' models. The 'M' steering wheel we've previously seen is standard on 'M Sport' and 'M Performance' spec cars like the M340i.

The M340i gets the steering wheel with the red band, the MSport same but without the red band and the Sport with the abomination mentioned previously.

Although with 18” wheels now standard on the M340i, nothing would surprise me…

Maybe this might finally convince the OP.

The M Sport models do NOT come with the wheel in your post. Take a trip to your dealer and look at any M Sport LCI 2 car and that wheel will be nowhere to be seen!

What makes you think the steering wheel is so sacrosanct to the cost cutting? One year ago, would you have accepted that an M340i comes with 18” wheels, cloth, non-adaptive suspension? Or would you similarly be claiming those were all terrible mistakes on the configurator.

I guess we will not settle the debate until the cars being ordered now arrive in three months or so. However I see no other glaring errors on the configurator which show this is all a sloppy mistake by BMW.

I believe walker1971 has an LCI2 M340i, maybe he can settle the debate?

Christ, this is painful!

The LCI2 has been out a matter of months and the new M Sport flat bottom wheel is one of the main “changes” vs the LCI1.

The M Sport cars do not come with the square wheel as pictured by the OP.

I can assure uk buyers that the M340i has the flat bottem Wheel with the red stripe and I can confirm it looks amazing and has a good feel to it, I can assume the picture that was on this forum to start is from a sport version not m sport, so red stripe for M models or m lite or m performance, uk configuration on the site call the M340i M model.
This is inside my 2025 M340i

I’m aware of the wheel that was standard before! The evidence being that it has changed on the configurator, even for M Sport models. Granted, it could all be a terrible mistake on BMWs behalf, I hope it is, but if I ordered an M340i and it did actually arrive with the hexagonal wheel, what recourse would any purchaser have?
