I ordered the alcantara ones (51-95-5-A27-1B6) and installed them today. Definitely need a plastic trim removal kit so you don't damage or deform anything. Also, definitely take extra care of the center console trim clips in front of the cup holders, they were a PITA and I could see how frustration could lead to just accidentally breaking them.

Unfortunately no, still needing a part number. When my car arrives I'll hit the dealership up if I haven't had any luck.
If my memory serves, there was a member here who bought LHD ones for a RHD car which were black w/ grey but then found they didn't fit. They then listed the correct part numbers - unfortunately I can't seem to find it now. Last edited by Sierra055; 07-13-2023 at 06:18 AM.. |

Looks like RHD black with blue stitching requires part numbers 51 16 7911036 and 51 16 7911037. Black with grey has a few options with post 7/2022 listed as 51 16 9502528 and 51 16 9502522

Just installed the alcantara version that I got for a great deal from a user here.
Fairly easy install, definitely good to have the actual plastic pry tools. I’m very happy with the end result. Looks great and feels even better. |

They will fit a G20.

Here is what they look like on my G42. These were pulled from my G83. They are a direct fit. Please note that if you are only replacing the knee pads that you do not have to remove the two difficult clips on the front of the dash trim. Without having to deal with those two clips the swap took me less than 5 minutes start to finish.

[QUOTE=blau3er;31395433]Are these the grey stitch version?
Yes, the black knee rests have gray stitching and blend with the rest of the Tacora Red with gray stitching. |

Hi all
I want share my experience with these leather stitched knee pads (mine is a RHD and based in Australia). I have been following this thread from when OP asked the question. I researched this with the spare parts team at the local dealer and of course back then with COVID and all, it was very difficult to get anywhere with it. Confirmed that all G series is compatible BUT to get the part proved to be difficult as BMW will not release it as spares to be purchased or the system will say part not in stock. (from memory they did have a price tag of AUD$1000 per piece which was ridiculous considering the Alcantara was a fraction of that price). Patience for me is not a strong point but my level of "Willingness to pay" was pushing it and I was willing to buy it at what ever the price given that it took so long. Alas, the spare parts dealer would not budge with helping me procure these kneepads. So, alternative avenue was ebay, amazon and places dealing with written off cars. This is where I struck gold, after almost giving up I found one selling parts from wrecked cars had not one set but multiple sets! On top of that it was leading up to black friday sales, so secured my set and installed with ease and it was inexpensive compared to what I was willing to go through. So summary, if you're after a set .. G-series (not sure about LCI) it will definitely fit. You can always thank the people who write off their M cars etc to secure your set of leather knee pads. All the best to all who are still in search of these. They are definitely a great addition. |

Looking to do this on a 2025 G20 (LCI 2). I have black Vernasca leather with blue stitching. Does this mod still work? Does anybody know the specific part #s needed here?
Thanks! |

Did this yesterday on my 2021 m340i. Black Vernasca leather with blue stitching, LHD. Came out really nice. Confirming the part numbers for anybody else who needs them. Took about a month and a half to arrive from Germany.

swap existing leather with led knee pad
I found a LED strip at https://infiniteautowerks.com/shop/i...ient-lighting/
This seems like an interesting mod but it means that I would lose out on my stitched leather knee pad. Does anyone know if we can swap just the leather over from oem to aftermarket but keep the silver part? |

It wasnt super well called out in this thread, but the padded knee pads trim pieces are a different shape than the stock g20 units. Stock, the door to the cup holders sits pretty even with the side trim pieces. With the padded version the side trim pieces rise above this door, and allow more space for the padded leather. As a result, the padded leather is a different shape and size vs the plastic of the original trim piece. It looks better this way, no doubt. But it means you cant swap components between the padded version and the stock plastic version. The LED unit you linked is shaped like the stock plastic version. |
