Escort Max 360c Stays On in 2020 Z4
I connected my wires according to the photo (What a pain in the A$$). The MAx 360c stays on when the vehicle is off. I am not sure if there is a switched wire in the housing or not. I always remove the detector for security sake it's not a huge deal but I would have liked to leave it on at home.

The Max360 may have a setting that shuts itself off after a selected time. My RL360c does I think that feature is an Escort standard.

Side question, isn't radar hardware illegal where you guys live, because here cops carry anti-antiradar equipment and if they catch you with one there are severe penalties, thus why I use android auto and waze, because people tag radars.

You don't have to remove the mirror, just the trim

It should pull right out. Use one hand (or a tool) to keep the part it plugs into in place and pull on the plastic of the harness

I swear whoever put this car together made sure it wasn't gonna a be taken apart easily. I'd like to see a video of someone doing the process so I can see how easy it's supposed to be. Not only am i having a hard time removing the plug, there's no way this mirror is coming off the harness.

I wired up my Uniden R7 the same way with the same power tap, and it used to cut the power to the radar detector when the car was turned off and the door was opened. Recently I've noticed that now it remains powered on for about 45 minutes or so after locking the car. Has anyone else encountered this?

Your mirror tap may always be powered on turnoff may be a function of a an R7 setting. Maybe tied to no change in GPS, no motion of the car. Some detectors work that way I am not familiar with the R7.

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the mirror so I can get a better angle to disconnect the plug? |

Thanks, I did, but I'm still unable to remove the mirror. Can you please clarify in the picture where to apply pressure to release the mirror? Do I first apply pressure in the direction of arrow 1? Then while applying pressure to arrow 1, apply pressure in the direction of arrow 2 on the left and right side of the mirror? Thanks.

I currently have the Uniden R3 - it was hardwired to a driverside fuse in my S4, and sat near the headliner next to the mirror, however, this time I like the cleaner look of the blendmount - can any one post more pics from the drivers perspective?
Some of the other pics I've seen appear to make it look like it sits so low - does anyone find that it blocks your view or is distracting? or is it just a matter of getting used to it? Thanks! |
