This may be a stupid question, but does BMW have a history of updating the software on cars once newer features come out? I have a 2020 on order, so it only has Apple CarPlay. Granted that I have an iPhone and don’t see myself switching to android, it would be nice to at least have that option in case I ever do switch.

Unfortunately I believe it's due to the electronic parking brakes. All manufacturers are like this now.

Does it need more? Seriously seems to stop pretty good considering it's a run of the mill 3er.

As for performance, that will come with the LCI. This is modern BMW. They'll just adjust the tune for another 20hp (or just accurately report crank power instead of underrating)

They should make a track performance option for calipers and source the paint from Porsche - so it doesn't turn color after one track event (the Porsches don't seem to suffer from the same issue - probably because of lower temps due to better cooling and airflow)

the 2020 idrive 7 cars, are supposed to get the upgrade to android auto so i'm fairly certain its the same unit. If the hardware changes, then thats a different think, but the android auto upgrade is for all idrive 7 cars.

And when it’s blacked out it looks amazing. I saw a blacked out white 2020 and it did not looks good. Big plastic grill looks cheap as hell. Black taillight trim looks surprisingly shitty too.
