I only keep laughing at these dramatic exaggerations of fire cases with electric cars.
Recently there was a Tesla burn in our neighboring country Austria. Many Swiss news channels also wrote about a burning battery. The next day the picture of the dismantled car appeared. The battery was completely intact and had nothing to do with the fire in the least. |

Typical.... people complaining about M badging that was originally put on at the factory and done through a decision made by BMW. Despite your beliefs you don't get to decide what deserves an M Badge and what doesn't.
I hope BMW comes out with a plane and sticks a damn M badge on it...

I agree that these type of catastrophic break downs are extremely inconvenient, hence why I am hesitant to consider EVs. Far too many disaster stories like this. I was convinced that tesla just didnt know how to make safe cars (or they just cut corners) but with bmw having these issues, it doesnt paint a rosy picture |

No, I dont think any insrance will cover evacuation expances. I mean, I have several insrances applied during the trip (casco, health, "green card") - they will cover acedent damage cased by me, health treatment, car damage/loss .. but not plane tickets end sutch.

BMW recalls quite some PHEV cars due to the risk of fire: https://www.electrive.com/2020/10/13...e-phev-models/
It seems there were few more accidents like this. Hopefully they sort it out. |
