There is no way a car with 20% more power and 20% more torque, same weight would not win 3/3 runs

Considering they are both very similar engines, both turbocharged.
There is no way the bmw would come out ahead, unless it launched quicker than the Audi
Which it did the first run for sure
I’m a fanboy of both brands, I’ve owned 4 M3s, and A5, S4, 2 S5s, and now an RS5 so I’m fairly objective
They are both great brands, and they both make great cars
But 20% power deficiency can’t be overcome because it has an M badge

The m340i are superb! Seriously considering this for my next car (dependent on what the i4 is like) at the time of me changing in a couple of years.

However, if the new M3 is anything like the M5 and M8 then reign of fast Audi's in a straight line might just be over

If you race paper the winner is obvious indeed !

But as stated the transmission, traction control calibration and so on (and who knows maybe the tires needed a bit more heat) can contribute to the overall performance... You can't blame it all on Joe who just has to floor it with launch control, I guess even a grandma can launch any modern cars.

That's not an option on the G21 in the UK so it shouldn't have it, unless it's a bespoke press car or something.

We do sell older wagons (F3x) when we get them on trade but they tend to sit for a long time. But you're right, hard to gauge when they're not readily available. Thankfully, I think the RS6 could help trend the US into a more wagon friendly market.

Some magazine did an interview with Audi head honchos and they said that the RS6 Avant the final shot they're giving the United States to prove that they want wagons.

It's a shame that they brought it in a $100,000 form because not many people can afford a car like that. Not a real fair shot if you ask me.

While that's true, I don't see those cars staying in a dealers inventory for long. They'll be a hot commodity and hopefully that's enough to get the ball rolling on the wagon train.

They sit for a long time because they are drivetrain limited! Coming from an E91, I utterly refuse the F31 only being offered in xDrive with a 4-pot. Pfft! Totally asinine when you could buy an X1 with a turbo 6. You probably still could if they hadn't gone FWD...
