Overall it looks great, but would need biometric login and a quicker way to see the cars locked state.

for some reasons my Bmw connected app has been working 100% of the time (including remote start and 3D view) for the last couple months and does everything mentioned on this new app.
I will only change is the old one stops working

The new app is no improvement for me.
You can no longer activate lights and horn.
You can only see if the window is open which is not possible with the previous one, but cannot close it.
I want an app that can close the windows and sunroof.

I downloaded this last night (I'm based in the UK) on my iPhone.

It definitely has a fresher look, but also seems a fair bit simpler and doesn't look like it has all the functionality of the old app - maybe they'll add more as they go along? I did like the way they integrated the vehicle specific images throughout the app.

No issues signing into my account or getting it to link with my car, but a few observations:

- It didn't seem to prevent iPhone screen lock like the old app (but I tried it without the engine running, just ignition on, so maybe that's why?)
- The app didn't seem to retain any of the information from my car, like current mileage or fueling/range detail (again I haven't used it on a drive/with engine running yet)
- The app wouldn't let me save my preferred dealer, kept getting an error (I suspect the back-end servers aren't fully up to speed yet!)
- I couldn't access my iPhone (Apple) music library, although I seem to recall this doesn't work properly without the engine running (will test again the next time I drive it - working from home means I'm hardly using the car right now!)

I've actually retained the old app and will continue using that for now and maybe wait for a few updates on the new app.

For reference, this is on a 2016 (pre-LCI) M4 DCT Coupe, with an iPhone XS Max running iOS 13.6 and all the latest iDrive updates.

Wish I had Apple car key on my watch to unlock and drive the car without the keyfob. I'm going to continue using the old app if they are removing features. I noticed on the old app it now uses Face ID to unlock the car rather than the pin. Does the new app have ventilate?

I think there are some features to be added the coming weeks.

Remote 3D and charge planning didn't work.

I think check controle is active. If you tap on the car it says. Everything is ok. I presume errors will be shown here if they occur and it not showing the items if there is no error. Same for the windows and doors.

For my 45e it now possible to see charging sessions and history.

I just checked. I opened the trunk and roof and now it doesn't show OK but unlocked and if you push on it shows the trunk and roof are open.

I don't know if somebody feels like deflating a tire to see if it shows too? 😜

Updating the info and connecting seems to be faster than in the old app

You can see the sunroof is open.
I did the test and app says everything ok.
I can only see the window open and the car is not locked

Yes that might be it. I presume you pushed on the picture of your car and the text "deur open"

the photo is after i pressed the photo of car.
The photo shows all doors and windows closed.
sunroof was open but I don't see it on the app.
This photo is with window open and sunroof open, it only shows window open.

While the current app is pretty bad, some features (like Spotify through BMW apps) actually still work going back as old as my 2013 1 series.

I'll be slightly sad/annoyed if this is really nothing but a new UI and name and drops support for older cars.
