I don't know how to feel about those grilles yet, but this is what I think of when I see the thumbnail of that video...
So it's safe to say I'm not leaning towards liking them.

It's still a huge nope..
This time it's an easy wait for the LCI (which is always the right thing to do in oder to avoid all early adopter issues..) |

It doesn't look much like a BMW anymore with the exception of the headlights due to the halo look.
The profile looks soft. Minus the strong shoulder line through the door handles and no Hof-kink. It looks quite feminine actually. |

I really wonder how hard it would be to take the 3 series front and stick it on the 4 series?
M styling is a bit odd, not that functional, rear deck is a bit too small, canards if they go on the car should be at least functional somewhat. The grill is very much in your face and I am saddened that that M parts are not making it smaller. The car looks good from rear & side. Maybe they can rename the 440i to Butherface. lol. |

The best M performance part would be a new front end.

No disrespect but I don't care how well this performs. This car looks like shit.

G8x is looking like it'll have to be Sapphire black paint with M Perf black grille or bust for me. Or shell out some coin and see what IND can do. I honestly believe the ///M division wants all new M cars on the road to have the black on black aggressive look. Once I see black on black in person I'll see what my actual impression is.

I'd definitely buy one... IF it were around $25k. I'd put up with the ugly ass face if it were extraordinarily inexpensive.

Someone here recently referred to "East German funk" as a design gestalt- I think this turn of phrase is nothing short of brilliant. Unfortunately, the 4er is absolutely bereft of any said "funk;" it doesn't seem to have any German left in it at all.
