Full screen apple carplay

Hi ,

I recently got a 2020 330i with Apple carplay. However apple carplay is only on half of my infotainment screen. Is there any way to make it full screen ? The sfotware version is K1927D1R

In the I Drive system there is a way to choose how the display is organized. I recall you can use the touch screen to reorder the display. On my car, I touch the CarPlay icon on the screen and CarPlay switches to full screen. Also, if you access CarPlay in the Media icon, I think display options are available there.
It's been a while since I set mine up, so forgive me if I've left something out. A BMW Genius, at your dealer, can certainly get it set for you.

Seems like you have iDrive 6? Does your car come with navigation? I thought all 2020's came with iDrive 7 though.

But the full screen CarPlay is only on iDrive 7.

@wafflymar I know a guy that can help you!

kubax86 can easily code carplay fullscreen, but as far as I understood from a guy that already has it on ID6 is the fact that you lose the possibility of using those widgets. So in short terms, you get Fullscreen but you lose Split-Screen. For me it was a deal breaker; this and the fact that the whole coding process was a little to expensive for what you get.

I don’t get it... that’s what mine looks like by default unless I push the lower left button to switch to the “Home” dashboard (put map app in left side, search function top right, and music app lower right), or again to show the App Selector.

Aren’t all 2020s iDrive 7?

There are some idrive 6 ones, market dependent.

I have a 2020 330i as well and want full screen CarPlay. It's kind of annoying seeing it in the small corner, is there anyway you can help?

Although perfectly understandable in a hot climate, it still seems strange to see blanking plates where the heated seat buttons normally are. I reckon heated seats are fitted to virtually every European BMW.

It's an option. If I check 2nd hand carsite's not much has heated seats in EU. Maybe in the UK

Mine has standard widescreen Carplay and with Live Cockpit Pro. Maybe you need a OTA update?
