Track Weekend Report - Autobahn CC with BMWCCA

Here's some feedback on my M340i xDrive at Autobahn CC. I'm a relative noob, but think I made a lot of strides this weekend. Sadly I was the only G20 there, same as last year.

Location - Autobahn Country Club, South Course - Joliet, IL
Org - BMWCCA (Windy City BMW)
Dates - 5/18/24 - 5/19/24
Weather - Full sun, 82-86 F ambient

Car - 2020 M340i xDrive
Mods - Intake, catted DP, exhaust. MHD Stage 0 (just removed 130 mph limit, sport cooling mode enabled. No "tune").
Wheels - 19x9 Apex SM-10
Tires - Kumho V730 200 TW
Brakes - Stock M Sport rotors and calipers. Project Mu HC-CS pads
Brake fluid - Endless RF-650

I ran in the novice group, as this was only my second track weekend, and represented track days 3 and 4 in this car. While last year I basically did an arrive and drive on stock gear, I decided this year that I'd invest in proper tires and brakes. The tires were a game changer. I could not believe how much quicker I could take corners before they complained. I was routinely passing G80/G82/G87 (novice group) and it was always in the corners that I was taking significantly quicker before they'd start walking me in the straights, then finally let me pass. I was starting around 27 psi and at one point was at 40 when the session ended. I was wearing them at the triangles on the sidewall. I've seen some folks saying they they're in low-mid 30s hot, so not sure how I could do that without starting closer to 20. They did get super greasy at higher pressures on the hard braking corners.

Brakes - these pads were great. Didn't get fade and the Endless fluid kept the pedal consistent throughout. Now, I feel I cooked something to some extent, because like a lot of folks with M Sport brakes, my front calipers are now green/brown. It was really day 4 where this transformation took place. I'll wear it with a badge of honor, but hoping I don't take the pads out to see the seals completely mangled from the heat.

Misc - I had no overheating issues, oil temps were the same as if I'd been driving on the highway for an hour, no power loss. All in all, a successful weekend.

Sounds fun!
Yep, depending on the tire, starting at in the 20’s and having cool down laps to bring down tire temps / oil temp is required.
Glad you had confident braking experience with the new pads and fluid. As far as discoloration, it helps to have the brake caliper coated. Mine remains blue-ish for now
Did you get any photos or video footage?
