Remove volume button for crystal replacement

Thought this would be a simple mod and the instructions looked fairly easy so I gave it a shot. I tried every method online: hot glue, duct seal, and even tried prying it out but nothing worked. Has anyone successfully removed the volume knob and replaced it with the crystal version?

I did this mod with the cheap AliExpress “Crystal” button and it was very easy. This instruction is very clear and I performed it without taking the unit out of the dash.
