I just bought one a few weeks ago (24MY) and received 2 years capped at 2000 kWh. I’ve already used 10%.

The problem with road tripping is the cost - $0.48 per kWh here. We don’t road trip with the car, but if we did I’d save the free kWh for it.

The real steal was when Tesla offered lifetime supercharging on the model s and x. That would have worked out great for me.

Someone living over there maybe shouldn’t expect to easily have an EV without home charging.

Also Electrify America is not the only the game in town. Plenty of other options.
No- EA only offers 19 locations for free charging. But as someone pointed out 2025 models aren’t free anymore.

Yeah, that’s nuts. I had one year free our first Tesla and 10k free miles on our second. I used 5k of the 10k before I sold it. That only saved me $250 v charging at home over the course of 14 months, so it’s not really worth all that much. It would have saved about $550 at the supercharger.

That’s not much.

How much was each Tesla charge at home? I’ve read 13.00? Others say higher

Here in GA it’s $0.14/kWh, so if I charged from 10% to 90% that’s about $10. If you live in California that could be $20.

Wow. I’m in need of a daily. I should probably just grab the new Highland Performance. The model 3 has come a real long way.

I drove the i5 m60 last Saturday and while it was fast and powerful- the exterior is so busy. Tesla and it’s minimalist design goes so far. Just wish they hadn’t removed the turn stalks. I found it hard to drive when I drove the RWD highland

I switched from the model Y to the iXM60. It is 25% less efficient - 2.6 mi/kWh v 3.5. Other than that, it’s a better experience in every way.

The spartan interior on the Tesla is neat and clean, and the interface is easy to use. But it becomes boring, and without a HUD or instrument panel in front of you it’s subpar. No carplay either.

Hard to argue though with the value of a $55k model 3 performance. And the i4M50 doesn’t have the nicer leather and spaciousness of the iX.

We have a thread about the model 3 p over here. I placed an order but backed out after trying out the new 3 and S. Then this thread got my attention and other issues with Tesla.

I’ll have a look. And I’m with you on the IX- it’s a special car to drive. One of the best I’ve liked for years.

The Model 3 Performance with its adaptive suspension, and small upgrades like seats and power feel like a great deal. Unlike the subpar cyber truck build quality- Highland surprised me so much. It makes sense since it’s been in production since 2017.

You need to take a more scientific approach to this. It’s not cut and dry.
What about traffic? EVs do really well in slow or stopped traffic. Or battery degradation? The 1-2% a year is not going to impact your daily commute. Maybe long trips in a few years.

Broken charging stations? Sure, you plan for a backup option which need not be another 350kW dispenser.
